Did this 10 years ago on my stock wheels. Plastidip is still on it, current owner uses them as winterset

 

Thank you for adding this I wondered the lifetime of plastidip even with it being flexible

No shame in using Plasti-Dip; it's a great product that looks good and holds up over time. I've used it on my winter wheels for years. It's a great way to get a factory wheel in a non-standard color.

 

Agreed.

My GF wanted the matt finish, so we went for the Hyperdip matt black spray.
We also did trim, emblems, front and rear grills.
After 2 years and a few hand washings, seems to be holding up nicely with no signs of lifting (just need to make sure to follow directions to the letter!)

Only downside is the fumes...just make sure to apply in a well-ventilated area, or else you'll be dizzy from the aerosol fumes.

 

Nothing wrong with the plasti-dip!

 

I did the Plasti-Dip thing, too. Great solution to clean up rough wheels. These are 15x6's from a 1998 S70 and 2000 V70. Note this is not jacked up. It's lifted.
