PICTURES of my XC90 lowered, Heico Volution wheels, Heico exhaust

Finally got it back...Eibach pro-kit lowering springs, 19 inch Heico Volution wheels, and Heico exhaust.

It sits a bit higher in the rear because I didnt want to give up my self leveling rear suspension. I think the raked back look gives it an aggressive stance, no? The wheels, (beautiful quality) are a model specific offset and sit perfectly just inside the fenders. The Heico exhaust has a GREAT tone to it.

Overall, we're very happy with how it came out.

Best way to explain it is....ya ever heard a ferrari going down the street?!

Kinda hard to explain but if you go to http://www.heicosportiv.de/mai...1=391 you can click on a link that gives you an idea of what it sounds like.

There's definately a difference from the stock sound. No comparison at all. And dont worry, "no civic with a coffee can on the back" sound here at all.

Thanks for the kind words.....NOT cheap. In fact, painful to type. $6300 out the door for what you see.

No anti-sway's installed, although I'm kicking myself for not doing it considering the front and rear suspension was ripped apart for the springs anyways.

It handles totally different. The eibachs are very nice. Definately a more firm suspension, but not jarring at all.

My wife even likes the way it rides!

$6300!! YIKES But it does look nice. I've not seen many after market wheels I like for the 90, but these look pretty sharp. Now you need to paint the handles and trim to match http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Comments on pro's con's of adding mud guards?
Thanks
Em

We had the mud guards on our '03 and found that they didn't do much to keep road gunk off the car. When we got the '05 we opted to not have them put on - I think the car looks better without them - a little cleaner looking (probably because there is already way too much plastic around the wheels and bumpers)...

Great Ride, I really loves those pipes!!!!!! I was wondering how much you payed for the Heico Dual Exhaust, I got quote (in Gernmany) for $1400 including installation and I'm wondering if its a good deal. Did you loose the spare tire with exhaust install?

Re: PICTURES of my XC90 lowered, Heico Volution wheels, Heico exhaust (Noah)

Great price for you...I payed 1700 for the exhaust installed. Yes you lose the spare, but they give you a neat compressor kit that inflates and fills the tire with goop to fix a flat. I'll post a pic if the kit later, but if you wanna see it now go to http://www.heicosportiv.de and go to shop, then XC90, then exhaust. It's the orange and gray box sitting between the mufflers pictured.

Now if your tire blows out, you're looking at a tow truck. I have the spare here at home. If we go on any extended trips, I'll just toss the little donut sized spare in the back.

It sounds AWESOME, and we (the WIFE included) couldnt be happier.

Re: (850platinum)

There's a price jump from 18's to 19's, then a little jump to 20's. I havnt seen 18's installed, but If you're gonna go for the upgrade, I'd go bigger then what was stock. Either way, you're gonna get a lot of attention with the Volutions.

I too love the looks of the 19 inch volutions. I have the Heico exhuast system on my volvo xc90 and it does sound good. I just need to decide which wheels to get 19" or 18" volutions

Ditto on the 19's.

I actually went with the 18's on my V8 for a couple of reasons:

I wanted to have a four season tire instead of the two sets I had with my R.

The bigger the rim, the lower the profile-less durable for potholes(off road etc,) and the additional stiffness can actually upset the stock suspension rates. I wanted to keep my suspension stock.

I did upsize to a 255/55/18 Nokian WR: awesome tire!

I think with stiffer suspension you would be o.k. with the larger diameter wheels.

Re: (PA70RR)

I drove an XC90 with 20" Volutions and the complete HEICO SPORTIV suspension in Germany and was very impressed. I was able to drive on both the local roads and the Autobahn and the package was firm but not overly stiff- comparable to a Cayenne in many ways. By the way, it was quite an experience doing 120 mph on the highway in an SUV and having to keep an eye on the rear view mirror, not for the highway patrol but for faster vehicles!

Re: (t6tim)

Tim,

I see you have the 19's running 255's. Are those the 8" wide wheels? I think they only recommend 235's on those wheels - lame as that is stock width. How is your tire wear now that you have some miles on them?

We lease our XC90 V8, so I don't want to drop too much cash into it... but new (wider) wheels sure would look nice - your set-up looks great (but it should for $6000+).

Yes, they are 19x8. I went with what my dealer said Heico recommended, 255/50 r19. It's on their site under the XC90 section at http://www.heicosportiv.de/mai...1=230

Tire wear after around 4k miles is great! I really didn't know what to expect, but we couldnt be happier! Do it! The Volutions turn heads that for sure!

I am thinking about getting the 18's (I'd save about $1000, right?).

How much did the springs lower your car?

Yeah, looks like the 18's can be had for 399.00 a peice now! Good deal!

Get them, you won't regret it, very high quality and head turners.

The front springs lowered it 2 inches, and the back springs lowered it just over an inch. I have the nivomats in the back still. If you want the full 2 inch drop in the back and you have the self levelling shocks, you need to sawp them out for the regular shocks.

Or you can buy the full setup from Heico, which includes new shocks all the way around.

I'm curious how has the ride quality been since you've gotten the ride lowered? I'm considering re-installing my nivomats on my lowered xc90. It's become a bit too much to bear after following through over any bumps and dips here on my roads. I wish I could see photos of this on level ground although I can get a feel for where she'll be sitting afterwards.

Wow! This thread is a blast from the past. It's pretty cool that those older model volvos in the pics were brand new when this thread was started! The pics make me want to lower my xc90, but thats one thing I doubt i'll do.
