Let's start the tradition. Like a German pickup, the Neuschwanstein Castle, we need our own castle shot. Läckö Slott is certainly beautiful enough don't you think?

Wow, you were able to enjoy Läckö Slott on such a beautiful day. Very nice. Here's my entry to your post for another perspective. We stayed there in the middle of December and had cold, dreary weather, although it did add some "mystery" to the castle.

I'll have to find the pictures from our first OSD.

When we stopped by Läckö Slott, everything was covered in snow - including the parking lot. Finding a proper parking spot (to avoid the wrath from SWMBO) was a true adventure as the parking lot islands were barely distinguishable as snowy mound shapes... :D

I couldn't find a picture with both the car and Läckö Slott in the frame, so here is a shot from the parking lot instead:

The above picture was from the trip in Nov/2004 to pickup this S60:

Wow, these are really nice pictures. The one taken from the walkout landing is cool.

The ideal shot, of course, would include your new Volvo. :) A worthy goal for our past and future OSD'ers.

Thanks for the well-wishes 808dakine! I'm picking up an XC40 T5 R-Design - white with the black top - same color scheme you have. I ordered it on April 10th and was hoping I still liked it by the time I was ready to travel. Your beautiful picture re-ignited my excitement to finally (almost) be on my way. Talk about the ultimate in delayed gratification! : )

Images from our pick up visit Oct 15th week. It was a sunny day and we reached little before the sunset to get this lighting. The facility was closed. I had seen a few signs of no driving on the paths so didn't want to go too close to the castle and get in trouble with the local authorities.

Great pictures. The light and angle were perfect to highlight both your 90 and the castle. Good job!

Great pictures Triniguy2. I especially like the one showing you running at the governor's top speed of 130. I have the same picture from our XC60 T8 OSD in April 2018 (131 MPH-Tach was around 5500). Looks like you were heading to Frankfurt on the autobahn. My favorite speed limit sign was the one with diagonal gray lines shown at the bottom of your speedometer. The car handled great and I am smiling just thinking about it again.:)

I agree with that smile, I let my 18 and 16 yr old drive also, and they both went up to 111mph! Don't think they will ever beat that speed.

I can't wait to do it again!!! I am torn about going for the XC90 2019/2020 but not sure how much difference the refresh will make!

Winter was cold for us Floridians but I would do it again in a heartbeat.... Just looking for an excuse
