One touch opening of sunroof

I imagine MY 04 & 05 R's also have one-touch opening of the sunroof (and closing as well). My question is:
When you open the sunroof, does yours open about 90% before it stops? So if you want the sunroof 100% open you have touch the button a second time.
Not that I really care, but I was wondering if this is normal.

No real sound difference even on the Eway between the 90% and 100% it seems in my 06. I wish the default in mine WAS 100%.

I have a similar feature in my passat. the real sound difference occurs arounf 35-45 mph. at the 90% position it's just added breeze and sunshine. go to 100% at that speed and you'd think you were going about to pass mach 1.

Not only is that normal but if you are brave enough to throw your hand between the sunroof & the roof while closing, the sunroof will press against your hand, sense the obstruction & retract automatically.

Yes and my (not so smart) buddy tested that feature on the passenger side window with his head! It worked but not before he yelled a nice loud OUCH!

Then I may have to invest in the M06 buffer.
Wait a sec', he said NO real sound difference, did you misread that?

Having just traded in a MY02 S60 T5 for a new MY06 S60R, I can say there is a slight improvement. I'd say their is more air noise in the '06 but less if any buffeting sound.

Buffer? What's that for '06? Pic?

I imagine it's a pop up wind deflector. It's odd. Every car I've owned with a sunroof has had a popup wind deflector. Except the Volvo.

Yeah, every car I can remember that's had a sunroof has always had a popup wind deflector, some using a combinaton of deflector and 85% open, except for volvo, but depending on the speed, the effects of the deflector become null, but at the same time, you dont really want the roof open.

Here's what I'm talking about:

ha, I can't believe MY06 is the first to have this deflector for Volvo.

Volvo tends to bounce around on the wind deflector. It's kind of like the black moldings changing to body color cycle.

For example, my 2000 S40 had a deflector but the 2001-2004 didn't. Now, my 2004 S60R has no deflector but the new ones do.

My 850 R has a deflector

You better be right,

I just ordered that upgraded deflector for my 04

My '05 has the deflector and I still get buffeting at 90 and 100%.

I don't think even with the deflector that you're going to get rid of buffeting at 100% without opening a window. That's why they stop it at 90%.

I am not sure why you're still getting buffeting with the deflector at 90%. Strange. My '04 has no deflector and it does buffet a bit more than expected, but at 90% it's not an issue, even at speeds over 100mph.

Hmmmm.
