I guess I would classify thunder grey as "the lack of any color"

Absolutely. I'm likely to go w/ Silver Dawn for upcoming MY24, that color certainly isn't for everyone.

But I've seen nothing better from Volvo than the Ruby Red on my 2004. Too bad Ford got to keep it.

I love Tunder grey, and think it looks great with the Dark theme and it gloss black accents. I'm just looking for a nice set of glass black rims now.

 

I prefer dark and black color, thunder grey is also very cool however it is only cool when the car is super clean. Once I saw thunder grey in daily driving, being a bit dusty, it was not that fancy anymore, just regular kind of silver, blueish car.

 

You do got to keep it clean, and bright light is where it really pops, but I love how it looks like a pastel grey from far away and subtly changes to light blue as you get closer. But there's no denying black cars just look 🔥

 

I like the Thunder Grey, but to be honest, I'm not wild about any of the XC60 paint colors. We chose Denim blue. But what we do love is the Maroon Brown leather interior. In no way is it maroon, but rather is a classic European leather brown color.

 

Nice! I'm actually with you on that Volvo's colors over all are not my favorite. I haven't seen th Maroon in person, but everyone who has it LOVES it! Hope you're enjoying your ride!

So disappointed in the color choices of the XC60 Recharge - wish they had at least brought over the Sage Green option from the XC40 Recharge lineup, would have chosen that no problem. I like green tones overall, and I've seen other car manufacturers make some stunning shades in that color.

But alas - I didn't want common-as-dirt Black, nor common-as-dirt White, so I held my nose and last September ordered Platinum Grey with Amber Ventilated Nappa. It's a combo I can live with. I chose Bright over the Dark for a bit of contrast 'pop'. Expected delivery mid-February '23.

I really do like the copper/brown undertones in the Platinum Grey and with Amber 🤩! White and Balck looks great, but like you said so common. Good for some, just not me.

Right there with you. I was in dire need of a replacement after my current vehicle was stolen out of my driveway (spoofed key) so I needed something quick. Luckily, my dealer found a T8 Recharge that was making it's way to it's final destination and was rerouted to me. I didn't have any choice and the color was Platinum Grey. I can live with it as it's a bit different than the standard. Also in Bright.

Denim Blue, a classic Volvo color! Bright theme because it looks more instead of less. Chrome delete by automakers saves them on costs and then they charge more to not have it - go figure!

That's the color I originally wanted. My last three vehicles have been silver. I like the way they never look dirty. My wife did not want me to get another silver car. She has a red car. I'm more of a gray type myself. I like the thunder gray a lot. It does look better when it's really clean, so I've become a car wash junkie.

Before getting my XC60 I have only ever had red cars. 🤣 I like how the fusion red and dark theme look, but I didn't want a big red SUV. I do love how silver rarely looks dirty. I am happy I went with TG. A week in and I already have 1 wash down... I see a washing addiction coming.

If you think the color choices for the XC60 are slim, you should take a look at the BMW X3.

 

Volvo XC60 is available in 9 colors
BMW X3 is available in 11 colors
Mercedes GLC is available in 12 colors
Audi Q5 is available in 8 colors
But if you want something unique and are ready to pay, Audi offers an exclusive color package, a total of 31 colors (In Germany, 46 colors) , and 8 different interior colors

 

There are many nice colors (and a few bad ones) available on the XC60. I like the XC60 in a darker, earthier tone like Denim Blue, Pine Grey, or classic black. For Thunder Grey / white / red etc, I would take the Dark theme, but I'm on the Bright side of the debate here (no pun intended).

My ideal XC60 is probably black / green with Bright exterior and light interior, like the one in the video posted above.

 

Thunder grey/maroon brown interior. Wife's car, she loves it. I saw a platinum grey/blond interior XC90 at the dealer recently, hadn't seen that color in person. Really like it.
I agree like most here, the color choices have gotten a little stale. Silver dawn is pretty cool as well. I liked birch light when they offered it, pine grey as well.

 

I haven't seen silver dawn in person, but everyone is raving about it. I might have to stop by the dealer just to see it 🤣

I think my next favorite would be denim blue. Although the exterior colors of the Volvo line are somewhat dull, the interior combos can be gorgeous, this is my second volvo with maroon and I am totally in love with it. I also really like the amber, and the new wool options. I am sorry they no longer have bursting blue, which was my favorite of the Volvo colors.

Bursting Blue was my favorite too! But I do love TG. You are 100% correct on interiors though. Volvo shines there.

We decided on Bright Dusk with dark since they aren't many in that combo.

 

I have Thunder Gray with Dark theme - and think it looks pretty sweet. Really like the black metal accents around the windows, black roof rails, vs. previous silver. Dirt doesn't show too bad. But I just go with whatever color I can get a good lease deal on, hard to go too wrong with any color

 

Mine is prior to the "themes" but because it is an Inscription it would technically be a "Bright." Denim Blue over Maroon Brown which is one of my favorite combinations on the XC60.

 

Dark theme with any color except Bright Dusk not a fan of Bright Dusk at least not on the Volvo website
