Looking for a replacement engine

Just bought a 1994 Volvo 940 turbo for my nephew and the engine seized on his way home. Wasn't getting oil. Maybe the oil pump or the fill oring

I'm in Texas. Thanks for the help

Oil extension/cooler o-rings like to leak. Replace #3,#4,#5 0-rings if available.
Check and make sure that both flywheel index square holes match up.
Regina and LH use different square hole configuration. Should be the same for B230FT.
Would recommend on the used replacement engine, soak the ex studs alot/overnight.
Remove and replace the ex header gaskets. The gaskets will vibrate loose, crack and leak exhaust.
The ex gasket flats go to the top. They will fit upside down and work great until you start the engine.
I did that, major exhaust leak. Check ipdusa.com for parts. Replace both engine and trans crossmember mounts. Take lots of pictures where all of the wires and other stuff connect.
Check out Dave's Volvo Page - Volvo Engine Wire Harnesses (prancingmoose.com) for wires and connectors when they break and/or shred into pieces. Lot of other stuff here also.

Thanks for the reply guys. I got a good deal on a fresh na engine for a couple hundred bucks. How much should I expect to shop to charge me to install it? Do you guys know of anyone in the Austin Texas area that be able to install it for cheap. I don't mind helping. I just don't have tools.

You mentioned na engine. na is natural aspirated or non turbo engine, it will not work. The turbo return oil line is in the block. na block does not have the turbo drain hole. Probably different pistons, not sure. Different injectors and fuel brain. The na engine will 100% fit and bolt in with no problems.

I was gonna suggest a junk yard, you can get them cheap there. The local yard charged me less than $250 for the motor (an NA one) and to pull it... the side benifit of them pulling was they didn't charge me for the accessories they were too lazy to take off.
