Koni shocks: FSD vs STR.T

I already purchased IPD springs, sway bars, end links, and front strut brace. Now that I have the rest of the funds I can purchase all the remaining suspension bits and hardware and the shocks themselves. I'm also going to be doing inner/ outer tie rods, control arms, and the rear delta link bushings, so the whole suspension should be like new again. I've already done as much research as I can and it's between the FSDs or STR.Ts. I don't want Bilsteins or Koni yellows (unless you think you can sway me). I really like the idea behind the FSDs and I want the best for my car, but saving about 300 bucks and going with the STR.T seems like an appealing option, especially because next I'll be saving up for a bigger turbo, then a Porsche BBK. What are your opinions of either shock? Are the FSDs worth the extra $300 or not? Or are the STR.T s really that bad and should I just avoid them? I drive very spiritedly and eventually would like to take this car auto crossing or to the track a little bit. Thanks for any help!!

Why don't you want the yellows?

I just redid my entire front suspension (every bushing, steering, control arms, struts, etc) with all OEM, Koni yellows, IPD sway bar, and Meyle HD links and it rides awesome. Stock springs though. Its on the softest setting and rides very smooth.

Good feedback 5Turbo, thanks!

SonicBlue - because for roughly the same price as FSDs I'd rather have my shocks adjust themselves! May be a silly reason, but like I said I could be swayed. How does the ride change when you move to medium and stiff settings?

But still, if the STR.Ts can cut the mustard they offer significant savings over the yellows.

I have FSD's with new standard springs, and really like them as a daily driver setup. Nice ride and the car stays level in the turns. But my Michelin Primicy tires on 16" rims are really limiting my handling. My car is far from a track car. You might want Koni yellows for the track.

I have a 1999 S70 GLT, fitted new Meyle HD control arms, sway-bar end links, IPD lowering springs and the Koni FSD shocks and struts just yesterday. The ride is stiff in the right places and during any weight exchange but the overall ride is still comfortable and I live in MN with some of the worst roads in the country. Would recommend the FSD's from experience with no hesitation!
