Integrated Rear Booster Seat XC70

Hi

I am the owner of an XC90 which has a very useful integrated rear booster seat.

I am considering renting an XC70 from Hertz for my next family vacation. I would guess it would be a MY 2005-2007.

Do all XC70's of these years include an integrated rear booster seat?

Thanks

Follow-up Question.

Is the XC-70 considerably narrower than my XC-90 - and hence will I have difficulty fitting three car seats across?

I have managed three seats across in both XC90 and V70 XC. Width is not all that different.

We have an 05 XC70 - it is very difficult to fit 3 car seats in the back. Of course they rest in the back seat ok - the problem is latching the seat belts. They are snug up against each other and it becomes a real pain in the a$$ to get them buckled in properly. And being this close results in "turf wars", if you know what I mean. The back seat is about my only complaint with this car.

it is difficult but as another poster said, it is possible. Much easier if you use the LATCH system for the 2 outboard seats. My guys are all in boosters now but if I recall I used to first put the middle seat in (must use seatbelts for that one), but kept it loose. Then installed the outboard seats, then cinched the middle seat down, then the outboard seats. A bit of an ordeal but feasible.

Turf wars are an issue, but it doesn't seem to matter whether it is in the minivan with tons of room between seats or in my car--they'll always find a way.

Yes Ken, thats the exact procedure we used. I think it included a few scraped knuckles and some expletives as well

The nice thing about the V70 is that the rear seats aren't overly bolstered on the sides so the seats will actually fit. This is much more of a challenge in my BMW and no challenge at all in the XC90. The three individual seats in the XC90 are a big plus as is the fact that they move backward and forward like a front seat.

I'd recommend an XC90 for a family with three kids. We've had both and are on our second XC90 this time with the V8 though

I agree with you on the scraped knuckles and creative expletives, but disagree on the need for a truck at least as a secondary vehicle (our minvan is the prime kid mover). We've got 4 kids and do just fine with our wagon plus get better mileage, safer handling, and more fun driving it!

Yes, as a second vehicle they are A1. Our XC90 is the primary kid hauler and my 530xiT is the secondary. I had 2 V70 AWD's before my current car and really liked both of them.

When it came time to replace the V70 it was a toss up between the V70R and the 530, even though it has a bit less power I liked the way the 530 handles and find it a little more fun to drive overall - but man the R goes in a straigt line !

Sorry, about to go off topic...

I sure prefer Swedespeeders to the Bimmerfesters. Generaly a great community where people try to help each other out. Bimmerfest seems to attract a different crowd.

There was an insane post over there the other day about whether people driving 5's could actually afford them or were they "fakers". Insane, who cares? I drive a 5 because my kids and dog fit in it. Sure it was $20K more than a 335i (which I'd prefer to drive) but...according to this guy I must be living beyond my means because of my relatively young age and the fact that I drive a 5 series. Yep, that's it go with that one...whatever gets you through the night.

hmm, I wouldn't consider 37 too young to own a 5 series, that is a bit odd. I mean jeez you get much older than that and you start impulsively thinking about Buicks and getting fiber in your diet...I should know.
