HUD disappearing (or I'm growing...)

I have locked my driver profile, but even with it locked, it seems that lately I'll get in the car and only a tiny sliver of the bottom of the HUD is visible. So I unlock the profile, readjust the display so that I can see it again, then re-lock the profile. Once it actually disappeared immediately after relocking the profile, other times it's waited until I've restarted the car 2-3 times. Pretty sure I'm not slouching in the seat when I'm setting it.... and I'm definitely not growing :p Anyone else have this happen?

This happened to me too on my first day with the car. The HUD position seems to reset to the original position once the engine is turned off. Try adjusting your HUD and save it and you'll be fine

Head up display disappearing from its position almost every day - am I alone ?

This was happening almost from the beginning - once in a few days head up display disappeared from the sight and I had to open settings and put it down. Some time ago, some special software fix was released to prevent that. But since that time it happens to me almost every day ... :) Somebody else experiencing the same ? Not a big issue, just slightly annoying ... why it is not able to remember its position ?

It happens to me about once every two weeks. I swipe left and adjust from the Functions screen, not settings. I read elsewhere if you saved the seat memory you can reset it pushing the appropriate seat memory # button on the door (1,2,3) but I keep forgetting to try that.

I have been unable to determine what causes it to disappear. I have a MY2017 T8 last updated in early March'17.

The Total Software Upgrade will fix the HUD positioning as it is not recurring for me. However, if you have a MY16, you may want to hold off for a couple of weeks when the Windshield sensor blocked issue should be resolved and the update is available.

Hmmm, It is working for my MY16. I had the problem before the May 8th/16th TSU and I am not having the problem at all now. FWIW, I also re-established my seat/HUD memory settings, driver profiles and key FOBs. You might give it a try and let us know if it is still not staying in position.

@Zaxxon: Do you have at least the TSU from May 16, 2017? I could see a documentation lag. I have over 3000 miles in the last 30 days and HUD is staying exactly where I want it. Just say in'.

Except for 10 days in late May where my wife and I switched off and on driving, I am driving 100% of the time with my key FOB and I only carry that one. My wife rides with me and she has her key FOB with her ~ 80% of the time. My Key FOB is set to unlock all doors when I drive. My wife's key FOB is set to only unlock her door - passenger door when riding and driver door when driving. It works great.

Mine has been doing it a long time now. I mention it each time and it still continues. It has been doing it way more often since the Sensus 2.0 update a few weeks back. Along with the windscreen sensor blocked message but I digress.

It did that to me everyday after Sensus 2, but after reprogramming all 3 driver's seat memory positions, the problem never resurfaced.
So far so good. Try reprogramming your seat memory together with their respective HUD positions and see if it'll solve the problem as it appears to have happened in my car.

What is really interesting, is the random nature of this behaviour: 1-2 weeks ago, it was happening every day, sometimes even twice. For the last one week it did not happen at all (without doing anything extra to prevent it)

FWIW, I have the May update, ONLY use my fob and have the problem with the HUD sporadically. My wife rides with me frequently with her fob in her purse. I wonder if the simple presence of the second fob in the car is enough to cause the drifting of the HUD. I drove about 200 miles yesterday with her in the car and had to readjust the HUD twice.

Yes, it can depending on the your driver profiles and memory settings, unlock settings for doors, sequencing of unlocking the doors and the settings associated with your respective FOBs.

Try to reset and resave all of your setting and save to your particular key fob. Don't forget to unlock your profile first.

Mine hasn't done it in a few days now, I think since Saturday. Now that I said that, it'll happen tomorrow when I leave in the morning, lol.

Also, my second row fan speed still defaults to fan speed 2 on startup. My dealership said they inquired with Volvo about this and they said that's how it works now. What I don't get it is if I put it on fan speed 4 and then lock my driver profile you'd think it should save and always default to 4 at startup, right? Or maybe I'm just thinking it should work differently than others would expect it to.
