I have another set of winter wheels 20” and would like to swap my 21” all season wheels on my XC90 with air suspension.

I tried the other days but no luck.

I Locked the suspension first, place the original jack underneath at required place . Elevate the jack but the wheel would not raise from the floor . The car body would raise but the wheel would remain on the floor. I didn’t extend the jack at maximum, I believe it remained a half an inch.

If someone has experience with the air suspension can you please share?

I am wondering if you have flat tire on the road and want to change the wheel how would you do it?

Do a need a different bigger jack due to the fact I have 21” wheels?

Should I have extended the jack at maximum and eventually the wheel would raise?

Thank you

I have swapped wheels a few weeks ago. Disabled the air suspension and jacked up te car as you did.
But I didn't use the car's jack, I never use it unless in case of emergency.
I use a 3 Ton garage jack, it easily lifted the wheels off the ground. I also used a pair of wheel hangers.

You did it right but the factory car jacks have to be extended almost all the way up for you to change the tire. If you’re going to do wheel swaps on your own I would recommend getting a good tire jack. It’ll make life so much easier for you

A few months ago I had a flat that I changed on my XC90 with air suspension and 21" wheels. I did not disable suspension and used the jack included in the trunk. I didn't have any problems but it was a little tricky to find the spot where the jack should be placed. The manual showed this location. Maybe you just needed to extend it further?

When you say you locked the air suspension do you mean you Disabled?

The manual says:

Models with suspension and level control:
Turn this function off before raising the vehicle.
To do so, go to Settings Vehicle Disable Suspension & Leveling Control in the center display's Top view.

I did this last night and didn't have any issues. I do have a floor jack though so maybe that helped. When I turned it back on I noticed the air suspension did some adjustments

That's interesting. I'm swapping 22s down to 20s on my R, and was told point-blank by the dealer that service needs to reprogram the computer for this swap.
Dang it - really?!!?

To avoid any confusion, I calculated the outside diameters of the available combinations.
I used the calculator at Tire Rack https://tiresize.com/comparison/
These are the results:
235/60/18: 29.1" (714 Revs/Mile)
235/55/19: 29.2" (712 Revs/Mile)
275/45/20: 29.7" (699 Revs/Mile)
275/40/21: 29.7" (701 Revs/Mile)
275/35/22: 29.6" (703 Revs/Mile)
