Hood latch adjustment

Is there any way to adjust the front hood latches? There are two of them. The one on the left near the release lever closes tightly. But when I push the right side of the hood when it is closed, it moves up and down about a 1/4”. Anyone else notice the same thing?

Its not the latches you want to adjust, you have to unscrew the rubber bump where the hood sits
Thank you. That was easy. There are two rubber bumpers on each side of the engine compartment. They can be raised or lowered by simply turning them. I had to adjust both sides, but now the hood is completely snug.

This just did the trick for me as well. Hood latch inside car was so tough to open I feared I would break the plastic latch if I pulled it harder. Had my son push on the hood and it opened fine. Screwed in the rubber bumpers all the way and it is opening MUCh easier now and alignment of hood still seems fine. Will watch it on the highway to make sure it is not too loose but think this did it for me! I am not sure how they got to be so bad as it was not that way when we bought the car a couple of weeks ago (2006 XC90 2.5T AWD) but just added a new trick to my bag. Thanks everyone!

Thank you for this thread...no... THANK YOU! (hard to relay all the feelings I have ATM :-D)
On my V50 the bonnet latches with a lot of effort and for past 5 years I've been thinking it's just a feature... On my XC90 it's the other way around, it wasn't latching firmly, so I've also been thinking it's some kind of lock adjustment. Now both cars are adjusted, so thanks big time!
