Fuel Pressure issues still happening any thoughts?

So I have been having these fuel pressure issues for about two months now, and so far this is whats been done....

-Replaced Fuel Pump 3 times just to rule out a faulty fuel pump

-Replaced the FPS

-Replaced Fuel Filter

-Swapped PEM in the trunk with another one from an 08 2.5T, same P/N

none of these have solved my issue even after clearing the code via VIDA, the codes that are showing are:

ECM-290B (Fuel Pressure Signal missing)
ECM-290C (Fuel Pressure Signal to high)

Car runs perfectly fine, performance is fine, no hiccups no start up issues or anything, drives perfectly normal.

Any thoughts? I saw another thread that was not answered however that post mentioned about wiring could cause it

Did you replace the fuel filter too?
Do a pressure test at the fuel rail and see it from there.
Also it could be a pinched wire somewhere...

Yes I've already stated that I replaced the fuel filter, I am going to get a pressure tester for the rail to see where it's at, lately just been very busy

I am going to look into the wiring issue though for sure

Apologies, somehow I skipped over the filter on your list.

I could be dirt in your tank blocking the fuel pump screen. Take the fuel pump out and check the screen. Look for my posts as you can see ive had these issues before.

Ill have to check and see for that, thanks

Check the fuel pressure at idle in VIDA and make sure it's up to spec. My 06 VR had similar code when I bought it. Per previous owner's records, dealer replaced fps multiple times prior to me purchasing. I replaced once too and codes still came back. I compared fuel pressure at idle between 06 VR and 04 VR. 06 had lower pressure and turned out below spec. I don't remember exact pressure numbers but you can find that info in troubleshooting section for those codes in VIDA. Turned out fuel pump was becoming weak on 06. Replaced it with used and codes never came back.
Readings on idle is 680kpa and normal value is supposed to be at 400kpa....fuel pump duty cycle sits at 18%

Idk if I just happen to get a bad batch of fuel pumps? I'm going to reinspect everything tomorrow

Where did you get those pumps? I assume all 3 were new correct? It is hard to believe all of them are faulty. As said above get the pressure tested at the rail with a proper equipment.
Dirt in the tank is a possibility too. Especially as you completed the pump replacement 3 times. The tank will be a PITA as you need to remove it for proper flush. Perhaps someone knows a better way not to drop the tank & flush it.....

I don't know your specific root cause but generally if i replace electrical components and get the same sensor codes i start tracing the electrical system starting with the simple stuff like battery health and clean connections (ground etc) and then start tracing all of my connectors looking for anything that doesn't look right. you might find a wire caught in a loom, being stretched, or rubbing etc. Recently my starter straight up was dead and it ended up being the signal wire spade connector corroded a little.

Not that you need it but here is a link to the 2007 wiring diagram

Good luck!

I too am experiencing similar issues:

- Duty cycle reading on pin 1 of PEM (mounted next to spare tire in trunk) is ~81%
- Using scan tool, computer reports 18% duty cycle
- Manual fuel pressure reading from schrader valve on fuel rail is ~85/90psi
- FPS pin 4 reads ~3.2 volts

Codes:
ECM-290B (Fuel Pressure Signal missing)
ECM-290C (Fuel Pressure Signal to high)

1. Replaced Fuel Pump
2. Replaced the FPS
3. Replaced Fuel Filter

Car runs well (good performance, no issues other than the codes)

Very similar symptoms to this thread

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I have the opposite problem- I keep getting a check engine light for too low fuel pressure.

Car runs fine, but whenever it's about the trip the light, it usually stumbles on startup, catches, and idles and runs fine. Then I get the light when I'm at light load, never when accelerating or anything like that. I have a two year old pump, replaced twice or maybe three times. Fuel filter at the same time.

I'm wondering if my issue has to do with either the CEM or PEM- my CEM is going out due to heat related issues- whenever it gets hot, the engine will mysteriously stall. Problem goes away after the car sits for long enough (presumably for the CEM to start cooling off).
