What's everyone's opinion on the front mud flaps, mine are faded and damaged and I will be taking them off when I swap out the front bumper. Question is if I should buy replacements or just leave them off? I won't be driving this in the winter or really much in the rain, ever. Bigger concern is if rock chips are a problem without them. It looks like they have the plastic film on the paint behind them, so hopefully there are no paint issues, once I have them off that may be a deciding factor though.

Keep them and use some trim/plastic restorer to bring them back to life. While you are at it do all of the rubber/plastic around your car (on top, around your mirrors, the bottom of your windshield, etc.) makes the car look so much more youthful! I was pleasantly surprised how much it livened up my car. I also took off my flap when I did my charcoal cannister on my 98' and it looked un-natural without them.

Is there a restorer product you recommend that last longer than a few weeks? Most of what tried is so temporary, I have to re-apply every month. I'm curious if anyone has ever tried removing them and painting them.

I wouldn't paint them - the paint/coating flakes off with time and looks horrible. Hitting them with a good trim restorer is the way to go - I've had decent luck with Back to Black, but most of these trim restorers don't have permanent results.

I wouldn't take them off - the car looks odd without them, and they have likely dug into the paint on the lower fender and sill trim, so you'll have issues there otherwise that the mudflap covers up.

The wipes I used on my engine bay were recommended by someone on YouTube who tested a bunch of different products against each other. This is the first major thing I've done with them so we will see how long it lasts. I don't have access to the pictures right now but I put them in my thread about my car.

Solution Finish is my go to for trim restorer. You can also add a ceramic trim coat on top to make it last longer. Solution Finish will last 3-12 months depending on if the car is outside a lot (UV damage) and the coat can extend it by about 2x.
