I am thinking about ordering oil from them since they have a free lifetime replacement on oil. I'm curious if anyone else is doing this, and roughly how much they are paying for return shipping. It seems like after one or two changes, it would pay itself off.

Shipping Used Oil could get quite expensive since it is classified as a Hazardous Material. First incident of a spill or leak and FCP Euro is going to be on the hook for some serious environmental fines since they are the ones telling people to ship back their used oil. Not a smart idea.

I'm curious about the process. Assuming you buy an oil change kit and have it in your possession:

Step 1: Drain old oil.
Step 2: Fill with FCP oil.
Step 3: Used oil into FCP containers.
Step 4: Ship old oil to FCP.
Step 5: New FCP oil comes in and ready for next change.
Step 6: ....profit?

FCP isn't really making a profit for people who actually make use of their lifetime replacement services. I haven't purchased new wiper blades, brake pads, rotors, brake fluid, coolant, etc. in years. It's more of a long-term customer loyalty program. But for the average person who doesn't keep their car longer than 100k miles of ownership, it's unlikely they'll replace most other fluids and components more than once or twice within that ownership period.

My cost to return two 5 quart bottles and a filter has been ~$20. $20 is cheaper than buying two new 5 quart bottles of quality fully synthetic oil. Especially since I can get LiquiMoly from FCP.

I looked up the weight of 6 liters and rough box dimensions for amazon from my zip to FCP its $14 to ship. So, after a certain point, this would work out.

I have no idea how they get around a Ground service shipping used oil, but apparently they do. If you watch one of their return videos, the ask the shipper put the oil containers in a plastic bag and zip tie it to avoid leakage during shipment.

I'm about to do this with brakes I installed about 3 years ago or so, I'll let you know how smooth the process is. Obviously not as messy as oil but still heavy.

I've used their no-hassle returns and warranty a couple of times now and it really is that. No hassle at all. The only cost to me was the shipping. Latest was a set of Meyle P80 front control arms that I bought a couple years ago. The boots were tearing and one of the steering stop pads had fallen off. I returned them and paid the difference to go to OEM. Everything went smoothly. Just make sure you keep good records so that you can reference your original order number.
