I don't know Volvo diesels but can you force a regen with them?

 

I thought perhaps DPF, regen appears to working fine - I do watch that - DFF soot is low ATM and I observe car (using Car Scanner) does the regen when it should & all the way back to zero so I don’t suspect this is the cause.

 

Non-methane hydrocarbon catalyst.

Could be aging of the cat, an exhaust leak, or something with the fuel injection system. Regardless, a Volvo repair facility should have a diagnostic procedure.

 

Thanks makes sense - I’ll do that, was curious if this is a temporary notification that would be cleared by taking a specific (say driving) action like DPF regen does for soot - appears not.

 

It says this for me too! Also 2015 xc60 d5. Did you manage to figure out why?

 

😂 that post was 2 years ago - I can’t remember sometimes what I did last week 😉 - it’s not still there so guessing ongoing driving eventually cleared it.

 

Are there any stored or pending codes?

Not Passed could simply mean that the vehicle ECU has not completed the test and after some driving it will set as passed or failed. If there are no stored codes, there is most likly no issue.
