I'm curious if anyone is running an electric exhaust cutout. I'm trying to keep my car a little more subdued in the noise dept. I ordered a 3" stainless one and it was pretty big and I didn't see where it would fit. If you have one can you post pics and or tell me a brand that might fit.

The dump does not need a tune change. It changes nothing because it is far enough past turbo and my wideband is a few inches before the cutout and it does not change afrs at all open or closed.

Of course no one will do this but here is a nice clean way to doa exhaust cutout on a P2 Volvo R. I did this with 3 inch tubing. I have a Vibrant resonator which is in my Insanity thread. The right outlet is straight through and the left in muffled as in the first image which works great. Video is in my tread If not I know its on YouTube and will find it.

Flowtech Warlock Muffler
Vibrant resonator
IPD DP with CAT
QTP 2.5 inch cutout strait
DPDT switch

This shows the Warlock dual muffler with the cut out swhoing muffled on the right tip and Straight through on the right. You can see the QTP cutout valve

Below is a close up of the cut out valve location

Expensive but it works

Im high as a kite on medication so dont min the nonsense and spelling plse

Here's mine, badlandz 3 inch, welded right after the downpipe but before the cat, so more flames and explosions :)

Fotos when it was installed, only tag welder here i think. Pipe thats going down had been shaven vor a little less sparks on the street.

Little button under the dash, works like a charm, the badlandz unit seems to have stronger motor for the motion, also better warranty. **** products have **** motors so they will get stuck after a little while im told. This one has like 5 year full warranty on the motor and the flappy bits. worth checking them out! Ill try and post a vid of the sound with the valvlo open en closed.

I am thinking about adding an electric exhaust cutout to my 2.5 inch piping. I would probably do a 3 inch O2, Down pipe and whatever other 3 inch piping needed up to the cutout. Then leave the existing 2.5 inch piping the rest of the way. I assume it would give me the same power as a full 3 inch exhaust while open and Still sound reasonable when closed. I‘m guessing a full 3 inch will be loud all the time And maybe cost more. Any thoughts?

I have enjoyed my cutout except for the dpdt switch that has sat on the floor behind the brake pedal for far too long. I found a solution a year ago and am installing it with some other cleanup. I was happy to find a way to use a push button. This new controller I put together will also close the cutout when the car is restarted. So if it's open when I turn the car off, it will close when restarting. I also included a led that is on when the cutout is open. Here is a sound clip of my system, which is above.
