ECM-280c and ECM-2900 - Fuel pressure codes

So the 280c seems pretty straight forward, fuel pressure sensor is faulty. But 2900, is this cause by the fuel pressure sensor or is this something else, "signal missing"? Whats a signal missing from?

Am I reading this thing right? When I click on 280c it lists a bunch of symptoms and things. 2900 has nothing.

Also kinda unrelated. How often should one do a stage 0? I guess I should do one since the car is new to me so I know what shape vital things are in? Are coils replace as necessary or does it make sense to replace all of them just to do a refresh?

Thanks!

the cem error is because you probably have an aftermarket radio in. dont worry about that code its nothing.

it also looks like the FPS code is old..

Yea, aftermarket radio. Also the FPS codes were in there when I first checked the car maybe 2 weeks ago. Cleared those codes and they have returned. I have had irregular hesitation (like once every 5 or so drives, pretty irregular) and the car stalled one time a few weeks ago :p

i would do a stage 0 if you haven't already...

replace plugs, coils, fps, fuel filter, oil filter, oil, air filter..

Its gonna be like christmas!

Add the fuel pump to the list to. If the PEM has been relocated (as it should be) in the trunk, then the ECM 2900 error message may relate to a bad/tired fuel pump.

How often should one do a stage 0?
  • Once around every 100k miles in terms of PCV system, and ignition coils.
  • Every 60-70K miles, Timing belt and water pump.
  • Regular service would be required for filters (oil, fuel, air)
  • Cabin filter 20k miles
  • Spark plugs 30k miles.
  • Change grearbox, AOC, Angle gear and diff fluids every 20k miles.
  • Every 3 years is recommended to replace brake and power steering fluids.
  • Flush and replace coolant every 2nd year.

I guess I should do one since the car is new to me so I know what shape vital things are in?

  • Yes, you should.

Are coils replace as necessary or does it make sense to replace all of them just to do a refresh?

Always replace all 5 in one go with new Bosch ones. It is not recommended to replace just one coil and also avoid used ones.

To complete Stage 0, you need to check the complete suspension and parts, struts, strut bearing, strut bearing plates, and brakes.

back to your original issue:
I would go with the following: replace the FPS and fuel filter. Most likely this should sort your problem. If not, then check the PEM connectors (pins) for corrosion especially if its still located under the car and not inside the trunk.
Last step would be to check the duty cycle on the pump if its above 40% (you can check this with VIDA) go for replacement.

I have it all on order. All new coils, plugs, fps, air filter, fuel filter, 12 qts of mobile 3309 for the tf80 ($70 on amazon and I had credit and gift cards!).

Ill have to find the fuel pump thing in VIDA.

I think 06 and 07 had the PEM relocated to the trunk by the factory (there is a fancy box in the trunk anyway, not sure what it is).

Thanks!
