Dynaudio Subwoofer Retrofit

Well, not much longer after my first post here comes another wonder haha. I was looking at c70's with the Dynaudio sound system thinking that all of them come with the two subwoofers behind the seat. I managed to find one fully loaded with options (Summum I believe) from 2006 for a decent price. Testing out the speakers I was pleasantly surprised how good it sounds with CD's but the deeper I started looking turns out the car doesn't have an aux, Bluetooth or a cd changer... fml... Since then I've already ordered a bluetooth kit that plugs into the cd player. One day I decided to clean the whole interior, removed the rear seats just to find two pieces of foam covering up the subwoofer holes. Then I went on the forums, You Tube, Google looking for any sort of help how to add the 2 missing subwoofers to the car. Figured it would be relatively easy since i already have the Dynaudio speakers elsewhere. So my question is what would I need to add the rear passenger massage kit to the car . From what I know so far, 2 subwoofers (Don't know if Dynaudio or I can buy an aftermarket option), 1 Subwoofer Amplifier (No idea which one), an optic fiber splitter (to hook up the sub amp to the main Dynaudio amp), (and 2 subwoofer crossovers??). After all that I would need either to visit the Volvo service or get myself a DiCE cable to code in the subwoofer option to the car.

Phew, I thought older cars would be simpler to work on, turns out the beginnings of "MOST" systems in cars are the literal worst thing to work with...
If you guys have any sources and/or part numbers for the parts I need, I would love even the tiniest bit of help.

Also if I missed out on something please let me know.

Thanks <3

Depends if you have already prewired everything from the factory, if yes, then youll need sub module, most splitter, wiring harness that connect both subwoofers and subwoofers themselves. And after that reinstall the program.
I have done everything mentioned above, except the program.

I too have done everything except the Most security bypass, but i read that now you have managed to pass this obsticle, Can you please help me to understand what i need to do, I have installed all speakers, one in the dash centre near sat nav, 3 in each front and crossovers, two subwoofers with splitter wiring loom, and two rear quater panel speaker on each side. I have both amp but i haven't installed them yet that's tomorrow, but is the wiring already installed for the Amp's? Any help advice would be great, tia regards

Yeah, I've been looking for a proper solution to implement the aux but it would all require replacing the screen and the cd player, this is the best thing I've managed to find.

There is a video on the website that shows how to install it, and the comments seem positive too!

This is doable! After i installed everything parts wise, only thing was left to reprogram the software. Volvo dealers arent allowed to do this, so wasted time and money there …
Found a guy who works with Vida Dice, installed the software and everything works.
Sound is night and day. Now when i got the fullest spec music in my c70, i can say for sure that subwoofers is a must.

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask.
Will make a post with pics in my topic.
Huge thanks to @Facusan !!!

Hi RR04,
Did your C70 have the wiring for the SUB module pre-installed? I'm wondering if my 2007 C70 with the high-performance (not premium) audio system would have the wiring for the SUB module installed from the factory. Perhaps you just needed to add the 25A fuse in the fuse box? I am planning on installing an aftermarket sub amplifier (JL Audio XD300/1v2) with two factory Volvo subwoofers, and I would like to use the power for the Volvo SUB module if the wiring is there already. I'd rather not have to run a power wire all the way to the battery. I will tap into the front speaker channels for signal to the sub amp.

Subwoofer - 30775282
Sub module - 30775587

But keep in mind that i believe it was from 2008- , the module was different. Best is to buy used parts from the same year c70. In that case you know you got the right parts.

Also you will need most splitter, wiring harness that connect both subwoofers and bracket that holds the module. And ofcourse the software

Hey, thanks for all the help guys. Got the Sub module ordered, just waiting for the speakers to become avaliable. Is there any way some of you could let me know the part numbers of anything else I'd need? The bracket for the sub module, the cables to connect the speakers to the module and the crossover if I need it. Also if I forgot anything else please be sure to let me know. Thanks

You need: Five screws and plastic “nuts” per speaker. A fiber optic splitter (or loop, whatever fits you better. Wires are all there). A wire harness to connect the two subwoofers to the car wiring (31270070).
The SUB bracket is no longer available, I made do with a piece of velcro.
Then you’ll need the software / activation (VDASH).
Have you disabled the MOST security already?
PS: Crossovers are for the front door speakers only.

Hey, so I have a quick update on the retrofit. Everything went relatively smoothly so far and I have a feeling that the software will be the most difficult part right now. I've managed to get everything else needed, also got myself the DiCE cable and with it came a cd preloaded with vida on it. Okay that all worked out. Now the question I have is what do I do now. I am completely clueless... I've checked the diagnostics tab in VIDA and it say that the MOST Security is activated.

I have been searching all over the internet with what to do next and have not found a single thing. I have even downloaded VDASH and in the Security tab there all the options are grayed out for me (again can't seem to find the reason why). I have a feeling it would be a straightforward procedure if MOST Security was disabled since I have seen the option to turn on the subwoofer in vdash. So would anyone be able to point me in any direction or what to do next? Do I need to get that VDD dongle from vdash to crack the CEM, would that allow me to turn MOST off?

P.S. I have been at the dealer and they have told me that they aren't able to do anything about it as @RR04 told me 😅 but hey it was worth a try.

@Viperino: Now that you installed all the subwoofer parts, you need to do the software part. European vehicles have the MOST security activated from factory. This locks all infotainment modules together and will prevent any swapped or added module from working without programming it first. But having the MOST security disabled doesn't mean you can just plug the subwoofers and start enjoying the added bass sounds. Because the audio module needs to "know" that now there is a SUB module online, which requires signal and control inputs from the audio module.

So, in other words: you need to do two software updates on the car. The first one is to have the MOST security disabled. Then do the subwoofer application software, which will enable the subwoofer control settings on the radio display. Once you done those updates, you should be ready to go.

These are the softwares:
P/N Description
30775848 - "SECURITY ON MOST REMOVE"
30664494 - "SUBWOOFER APPLICATION"

Where or how to do the software updates? Well, I've never used VDASH, so I can't say if it can perform both software updates. AFAIK, these need to be done with a genuine VIDA subscription (not the one got on DVD, That one works only for parts catalog, instructions, diagnostics and few software settings on the car) like dealers or Volvo specialist independent shops have.

My advice? search for an independent shop that has VIDA, and confirm they can perform software updates on site. If they can, give them the two software numbers mentioned above and that should be all.

If the independent shop route doesn't work, then you could try again at the dealer. But with a slightly different strategy, I've read a few comments that mentioned about European dealers having soft of an internal policy or directives from Volvo HQ that no car cannot leave the lot with the MOST security disabled. Now this will make the bill more expensive but may worth trying: Tell them to enable the MOST security once the subwoofers are working. This is the P/N: 30775847 - "SECURITY ON MOST ENABLE". If this works, then the directive rumors may be true.

Hello,
I retrofitted the two woofers and power amplifier to my c70II 2007 with the factory premium sound system. Security most off (30667249) and sub reload (30679528) was installed at the Volvo dealer.
The sub amplifier is now "green" in the Vida overview.
However, activation in the ICM was not possible. because the software "aplication subwoofer (30664494)" does not fit the car. Otherwise I can't find any other software to activate the sub in the ICM.
Who has done it successfully on a c70 2007?

I have got everything ready, just need the software side now. People have been pointing me towards vdash, I have ordered the VDD and tried to decode the pin (needed for activating modules) but for some reason the process reaches 100% and it just stays there. The developers said they are working on the fix and I'm waiting to see what they come up with. If it ends up working I will be sure to update you all

Hi,
Not sure if your car will have everything prewired like mine did. You can remove the rear seats and check in the drivers side if there is an free connector and also in the trunk on drovers side when you remove the side panel. If you got free connectors there, then you have prewired everything

When you say drivers side do you mean European drivers side and not UK drivers side? because I checked last night but after reading this again have only just realised the people recommending drivers side don't live in the UK like I do! I am buying the whole kit from a breaker and want to make sure that I get everything I need from the doner car!!

Hello, so i have a small-ish update on the whole situation.
I have managed to crack my cem pin and enable the subwoofer using vdash, and I have got the "Subwoofer" option showing up on the screen, yay..
However, now I am getting a SUB module error saying that it's not responding. I have bought the same exact p/n amplifier that was linked here, any ideas what could be the cause? Please don't tell me it's because the most isn't disabled.

#38 ·
Yes, otherwise the MOST system is locked and will not accept the subwoofer.

As a small side note, When I scanned my car with VIDA, I had a some SUB module errors (Can't rememer which exact code). Even though it was working perfectly at all times, I think that error was triggered when the SUB is manually disabled in the ICM settings. Which in fact, previously I was messing around with the audio settings. If you saw the Subwoofer adjustment settings option, I assume that is enabled, but if not, make sure it is.

But yeah, disabling MOST is a requirement to get it working. Either that or come here to the U.S. and buy a C70 (only available with T5 engine), they come with the MOST disabled from factory.

I have been following this very closely as my car has the High Performance stereo fitted, but I found a 2006 T5 SE LUX being broken, it was even the same colour as mine so as you can imagine. I was in heaven, when it came to parts. The first thing I asked him for was the full Dyn Audio set up that's all 14 speakers and cross-overs and two amps and the head-unit info display, guys did I miss anything? I'm also getting a fully operational sat nav screen with dvd module and discs and remote control. Plus a whole host of other goodies including Calcite leather interior and 18" mirzams. Not bad ah? Anyways question is have I missed anything?

Seems like you have everything. I wonder if swapping all the modules at the same time will not require to disable the MOST security, since they're all paired together.

Thats what I was wandering, if I disconnect the battery and replace the whole lot, speakers, amps, crossovers and modules will I be able to trick my car into allowing it all to just work, without any issues (like the disabling of MOST setting? via Vida) I don't know probably wish full thinking, any advice guys, when I start I will be doing a full write up, I'm just trying to do a bit of homework first
