Driveshaft removal for access to Haldex filter?

I'd like to replace the Haldex filter while I am replacing the fluid. Looks like I have to might have to drop the driveshaft in order to access it. If so, how do I remove the driveshaft from a 2004 V70R?

I just did this job. I wanted to remove as little s possible, but I ended up dropping the exhaust behind the cat. I unbolted the cross-member that holds the center support bearing up. Then I unbolted the 6 bolts that hold the rear CV joint to the Haldex damper. I would mark it so you reinstall it the same way, but I actually don't think that it matters. I pushed the cat to the driver's side and bent the driveshaft to the passenger's side. I had just enough clearance to get the CV joint out of the rear damper by moving it out towards the driver's side. With that end on the ground you'll want a 24mm six-point socket (its a very shallow nut) to take off the nut inside the input flange. It loosens in the normal direction. The real trick is getting the flange off. I just used a hammer and a drift punch to get it off. I didn't have to tap very hard to get it to move. I used a chunk of flat iron as a drift about a foot long. Just be sure to tap the flange and on the rubber supported outside ring that's a harmonic balancer. Oil will drip out. Once that is off, the rest should be easy to get to. I pulled the brains off the side too. There are two sensors things on the side under it. They can be a bit of trick to get back in one had a ring. I think I put them on the DEM first and then shoved them into the Haldex. The rest should be pretty easy. The fill hole is back closer the the diff. I used a horse syringe to fill it.

I was able to remove the filter on my 2005 without removing the exhaust or the driveshaft. I'm still waiting on the new filter (should be here today) so I'll try to snap a picture later as I install it.

Your 05 might have a bit more room since it might not have the dampener. My 05 doesn't have one but the two 04s I parted did.
