Driver’s seat loose

I've been noticing a little bit of a click in my driver's seat lately so I felt around a bit and found a loose bolt. How loose? See for yourself.

I'm pretty pissed.

Ok...Looks like they didn't bolt the seat down properly. Probably just needs tightened. Instead of being "Pissed" take it to the dealer and I'm sure it won't take long to fix the oversight in quality control.

Pissed as in I've been driving around like this for who knows how long and if I had been in a serious accident seriously bad **** could have happened pissed.

I'm at the dealer now.

Well. Since this post the clicking in my seat has gotten worse.

I’m concerned something may have happened during the time the seat was working its way loose.

Volvo tech thinks it’s “normal”.

I’ve escalated to Volvo Corporate. We’ll see what happens.

If you sit in the seat and rock your upper body back and forth, can you hear the clicking? If you raise the seat up in the rear a little does it go away? Reason I ask, I’ve had an annoying click in the drivers seat of my XC60. It comes from the area where the seatbelt buckle is, like underneath it in that area. If I shift my weight around, it clicks. If I raise the back of the seat up slightly, it stops.

Why not take it in under warrant and have Volvo address all the issues?

I did take it in back then. They tightened all the bolts down to spec.

The original clicking that led me to check the seat in the first place is still there and getting worse. Currently have a case in with Volvo corporate. Car has been in the shop since Monday anyway since they're trying to track down another software issue or something. Every time I bring my car in for service it seems like it stays for a week. Even my service advisor noticed and remarked on it when he called to tell me they need the car for a few more days.

I’ll keep watching these bolts if they become loose, thanks for the info.

I don’t think the safety was a big problem in this case since XC90 has the belt in the b-pillar and not in the seat. So basically only a low load would have been on this screw in an accident.

I usually actually remove these myself and mount hooks for child seats (not the XC90 since the kids are older now) and this was something that came with the child seat.
