D5 Fuel Pressure Spikes

Hey everyone!
I've got a 2004 Volvo V70 with D5244T engine. After an engine swap (was required after my timing belt broke) I'm having an issue where my fuel pressure is spiking up to ~8000 psi and at the same time my RPMs go up ~100, and it appears to be rhythmic.

Holding it at 1000 rpm

All the fuel injectors are known to be good (from the old engine), my fuel pump is also the old one which had no problems before the engine swap. I've replaced the fuel filter, but it didn't affect the issue.
Sometimes, if I hold my RPMs at ~1000 it will stall and OBD2 would read "P0087 - Fuel rail/system pressure too low".
I'm hoping someone has an idea what could cause this issue as I have no idea what to try next.

Maybe fuel pressure regulator and/or sensor went bad? You said pump is from old engine, but still weird coincidences can happen.
Also I remember reading about pressure spikes on Opel/Vauxhall 1.7cdti (also CR) engines leading to probematic pressure regulator.
I really doubt that the fuel pressure sensor is the problem since I can see the pressure spikes on the fuel pressure sensor reading. I'll order a new fuel pressure regulator and I'll post an update once it's installed.

Unfortunately, my brake fluid is topped up.
OBD2 reads “P0600 - CAN data bus - malfunction” and “P0571 - Cruise control/brake switch A - circuit malfunction”. I’ll try to get access to VIDA/DICE somehow, because I already replaced ABS control unit and it didn’t help. Either the replacement unit is bad or it’s something else.
