Personally, I have seen both men and women driving this car (almost equally) with more men favoring the R-design.

 

My wife likes it, but I don't think it is a chick car. I would rock 1 with with an ATP turbo kit and ARD tune if I were to pick one up, and would probably ask to swap cars with her from time to time though she thinks the R is too low with the factory sport kit and Eibachs.

 

I don't think so but then again I didn't think my S40 was that feminine, sales figures say otherwise.

 

I parked ours in front of the theater to get tickets to Lincoln a few weeks back. Turns out this premiere coincided with the opening of the latest Twilight, and I returned to find my car mobbed with teenaged chicks who wanted a photo by the car.

So yes, chick car.

In my experience selling them, I would say 7 out of 10 are men actually. Wouldn't you WA V50 T5?

Saw one the other day and parked my R next to it. Low an behold it was a couple in there mid 30's. He was the driver it appears, but it was also a R model. I thought it was a bad azz little machine myself. Way more manly than a GTI.......

But he is a blood sucking dude whose been dead for 100 years...not sure that should have been the target male audience of this car, heh. Anyway, as someone posted sales of the vehicle are majority to males. And the R is definitely a man's ride.

 

I don't need to compensate for anything in the pants department by having a big car.

Besides, way more girls notice my car over a 4WD. Here in Australia most of the (married) girls drive SUV's. Chicks or young girls don't have the money for a nice hatch. GTI or Megane s something that would definitely test my testosterone vs oestrogen levels though. A Mini would be just cause for psychiatric treatment. So maybe the thread should be called...

Not at all ! I drive an 09 S80 V8 but my cousin has a 2012 C30R and I love it. I wish I had one.

I supported a mate at Targa High Country in Victoria. After watching some of the competitors drive like pathetic schoolgirls, I would never be seen dead in a Porshe. I used to love them. Pink or silver, girls car.

Volvo C30 is a chick magnet.

 

I think the C30 goes both ways and appeals to those with good taste. At least that's what this chick thinks.
