I just swapped out my fifth set of tires in my 2016 XC90. I’ve had three sets of perellis Scorpio verde, Michelin ltx, Nexen N FERA, Continental extreme contact, and now have just installed the Bridgestone Alenza AS ultra. The ride is more comfortable ride away. There is some odd road noise but I will have to keep an eye i that, as it could have just been the rain. Anyone else have these? I have 152K miles on my XC90.

After driving on those tires for about three weeks, I had to have them replaced. The road noise was awful and only got worse, and they were difficult to balance so there was a lot of vibration at highway speeds. I got them replaced with Michelin pilot a S3 all season and don’t regret it for a second. These tires are pricey, but after having Perelli‘s, continentals, And others, these are my favorite.

152k miles?? That's outstanding! I put the Michelin Pilot AS3's on our 2017 T6 at 45k miles. It has 89k miles now and the tread has 15-20k miles left easy. The Michelins are quieter and smoother than the factory Pirelli's. They are also smoother than my former 2020 and my current 2021, both of which have the Pirelli's.

Once my 2021 needs tires, I'm going with the AS4's.

We got the Bridgestone Alenza ULTRA A/S on the 20" T6 wheels we have about a month and a week ago. They're replacing a set of Michelin Premier LTX that made it 40,000 out of their 60,000 miles warranty. Thankfully my tire dealer gave me a credit back which I applied towards the Bridgestones. I've been very impressed with them thus far due to comfort, road noise, lack of vibration and comfort. All a significant improvement for us over the Michelin Premier LTX and Scorpions we had before those. We've put about 3,000 miles on the tires since we got them due to multiple summer road trips. In rain they've been quiet and secure. On dry roads they've been fantastic. I highly recommend those Bridgestone Alenza Ultra A/S for anyone running the 20" setup we have! Hopefully they get close to their 80,000 mile warranty.

You have a ton of miles, has your suspension ever been replaced?

Glad to hear you had a better experience with the Alenza ultras. The ride comfort was good, I just didn’t like the vibration and noise. I had the struts and shocks replaced about 10K miles ago. I’m waiting to get the leaf spring and front springs replaced when the parts are available.
