It means just that- book a service appointment. It comes on as you approach the service interval, based on when it was last reset.

 

So I should expect this message to come on about every 12000kms/7500 Miles? This interval appears in the service book for the 2010 V50.

 

It’s just a service reminder. If you use it, perform whatever the recommended service interval states.

On my 2005 model you reset it by pressing and holding the odometer reset button, turning ignition key ON and waiting few seconds until message starts flashing, car does audible "ding" and it resets itself for another 8.5k miles or whatever your car was programmed to by factory.
may be similar on 2010 model

 

This is set the same way as „Time for regular maintenance" message?

 

Interesting, mine doesnt have the "earlier" one, I just have "Time for regular" one.. In that case I dont know if resetting it will work but I would think yes, probably the same and should reset the counter for next 7500miles I guess.

 

I don't know what year they started using the Book Time message.
