So I take it you didn't do them yourself? Wondering if the paint needs to be heat resistant or if the tailpipes never get that kind of heat.

Yes I had them professionally sprayed with special paint. I now have the Polestar Engineered ones. But maybe I'll put them one up again for a change.

I did mine (xc90) love the contrast. I did mine myself. Took the covers off and cleaned scrubbed sanded and used gloss black spray can and clear. Holds up well but I’m sure I’ll be repainting when I have a free chance.

 

definitely more expensive than paint. But you could go with the black chrome polestar tips. That's what I'm doing. But I didn't upgrade to the 4 ports (quad) so not as big a hit on the wallet.

The Polestars are nice! The black chrome makes the difference.

I am letting the oem quad tips painted as we speak in black chrome.
All black is for my taste to dark.
That is why i changed them with the Polestars to begin…

So a can change / swap them occasionally.
