Best way to move a non-running project car 90 miles?

I've got a solid lead on a '94 854 with a stick. Current owner selling rather than replacing slave cylinder and clutch. I'd like to DIY the repairs and keep it on the cheap.

The car is 90 miles away and all the area towing companies are quoting me $800-1000. Is there a less costly way to bring this home?

A friend with a AAA membership that has 100 miles free towing.

Push it real good.

No, but seriously a tow dolly will work. You can rent a tow dolly from Uhaul and a truck from either Uhaul or Home Depot. Better if you have a friend with a truck and a hitch.

Also can confirm AAA could work in this type of situation but sometimes they don't like when the car doesn't have a plate and/or registration in your name.
