I need to change my axle seal/axle and anticipate a decent amount of ATF fluid coming out. I figure I might as well do a drain and fill. I was able to locate the ATF dipstick thanks to the help of this forum (man is that thing hidden). As far as getting the fluid back in there after I drain it, I'm thinking I will get a pump kit and push it into the dipstick channel.

I anticipate doing all of this from the bottom of the car unless you all have suggestions for easily getting to it through the top. Do you need to remove the ECU box to clear enough room if you are trying to do it from the top?

you don't need a pump kit to fill the trans. A long neck funnel is enough, I used this one from AutoZone (Link here) and it perfectly fits into the dipstick tube. with this funnel there's no need to remove the air box, just the ECU cover and that's it. it reaches the dipstick tube with no problems.

I wish this thread was started about a month ago!

I just did a transmission oil flush and had to rig up some funnel/hose contraption in my shop to add oil to my transmission. I had a perfect funnel for many years that worked great for this job the last time I did it (about 40k miles ago) but it disappeared in my shop. I wasn't satisfied with anything I found on Amazon or in my local auto parts shops, so I was forced to be creative!

Thanks for the link!

Yes, that's the correct fluid. It's the same as Toyota Type T-IV, which is usually cheaper. I paid around $7.50/qt at my local dealer last time I drained and refilled.
