It's about an inch taller than 215/50, or 1/2" on each side ... could be too much sidewall due to the spring perch, but hard to say until you try to fit it. What size is on there now?

 

Yeah, I was hoping someone on here had already taken the plunge and could report back. We have run 205/50/17, 215/50/17 and 225/50/17 but never 215/55/17.

 

Bumping this - anyone running these? Finding lots of good deals on this size on CL for winters...ugh

 

My GFs car runs that tire before i put them on i lined up to the V50 and its just huge, it didnt seem that it will fit in the wheel well especially on the front when turning it will rub.

Then type in your current tires and the new ones and keep the wheel size the same regardless of the offset it says OME V50 size is 25" the size you want is 26.3

Interesting because I planned on going to 215/55 on my next set of tires. I didn't think they would rub, but maybe I'm wrong. Time will tell.

Trying to do the exact same change on a v60. My friend has Winter Tyres which he doesn’t need. Did you ever find out if the extra profile clears? I’m not too bothered about Speedo being slightly off etc.

This is an S40/V50 forum, so not applicable to the V60 which has differenct clearances to the suspension components, etc.

For the record, on a P1, I am running 205/55R17s and I would say there is enough clearance to bump up to a 215/55R17 which has an extra 5.5mm of sidewall.
