Any opinions on Rica or BSR remaps/upgrades?

I was planning to go for a Rica upgrade on the S60R after i have sorted out my exhaust system.

However, i went to my local Volvo specialist yesterday to see if they could help repair my drive shaft and they said that they recommend BSR ecu upgrades as you usually get a little more power.

I must say, i am a little disappointed at the stage 1 Rica power figure of 330bhp, the engine is forged, surely they could increase the boost further?

Does anyone have opinions from experience etc as to how these two upgrades perform?

Thanks :)

Rica, IPD/mte, autotech/elevate are the three options I would stick to. Iirc bsr had issues with a 3" dp and boost spikes. I have the autotech/elevate stage 2 tune and I love it insane torque and very usable power.

Stage 1 is just an ECU tune (BSR, IPD, Rica, Elevate/Autotech).
Stage 2 is bigger DP, ECU tune (IPD, Rica, Elevate/Autotech), and maybe an exhaust and air intake upgrade. You can say you have a stage 2 with a DP and tune though.

The price has held me back as well, but I've been doing a stage zero on my R and keeping it in mint condition so I'm definitely not doing it the cheap way (which will lead to problems down the road).

Ahhh ok, but i thought they alter the tune for the different stages? I.e. they will only upload stage 2 tune software onto the ECU once you have added certain components such as DP and cat back etc.

I have been buying a lot of genuine parts for my R too and keeping it in good condition. Front shocks cost me a fortune but it's all in the name of keeping a great/rare car on the road. I'm not sure how many you see around in the states, but in the UK, i only know of four within a 20 mile radius (and i live in England so 20 miles is far for us) :) and one of the four is my R and one is a V70R... so not that many around here really.
