ABS/Brake assist light after shock/strut change

I changed out my struts/shocks/springs. Was very careful with the sensors when I did the install. i did take the brake calipers off when installing. Now I have the message pop up now and then. Not sure how the install effects the sensors.

Do the brakes need to be bleed? I plan on bleeding the brakes anyway.

Thanks!

I mean to say the "ABS" and "Brake Assistance" light comes on... Should bleeding the brakes help?

Check the wheel well for an undone abs sensor. Most likely your problem.

I need to check the connection but it's like -20 degrees in VA now.

Update: So, I went in to get my alignment done after replaceing my suspension. They informed me that my outer tie rod needed replacing before they could align the wheels. I fixed it and the alignment was terrible so I took it in the next day. My ABS and anti-skid lights were flashing on the way to the tire guys. Since I got the alignment done, the lights have not come on again. I am pretty sure the sensors were coming on because my alignment was out and it somehow was picking up something being wrong.

Interesting. I wonder if when you had the allignment done that the shop found the sensor possibly unplugged or something. That seems unusual for your lights to come on over being not alligned properly. But who knows, its Volvo.

It's strange. I checked to connections and they were fine. When I changed the tie rod, it made the alignment terrible and the ABS light kept flashing. After I dropped the car it came on occasionally but didnt flash. There has to be something the sensor picks up from the alignment.

Same problem here... but with a few newer parts.

Installed new springs, front hub bearings, control arms, and ball joints. I also did some engine work which had the intake, downpipe and turbo off. So, upon bolting everything up I fired off the engine to make sure everything was fine there. Check. No leaks, no lights.

Car is still up off the floor (all four corners) and the ABS light is ON at start up. Curiosity got the best of me and I put it into drive. The front rotors turn but then stop and kind of struggle as if something was binding it up. Engine off, turn both axles by hand and although there is resistance (normal feeling resistance) nothing seems to be binding. Engine on, put in drive, same thing. Tap gas and it struggles... limp mode?

I checked sensors and wiring and everything appears fine and clean. Sanity check, when I look down at the teeth where the wheel speed sensor goes, on both sides I only see half the teeth. Is this correct? It appears everything is tight and mated correctly but should the sensor see all the teeth and not just half? This is the same for both sides.

I'm thinking of putting the tires on and dropping the car to see if the ABS light goes off by itself and see if it really is in limp mode, but I wanted to post this first.

Thanks.
