Android R = Android 11. We have Android 10 now, so it is a major upgrade (not a 'dot update') to the Operating System that Android Automotive is running on. Hopefully this allows for better user experience, better applications, etc via the 2.x updates this year.

Yes, just saw that in regards to Polestar 2 software updates. Interesting. So its like we're getting a Windows 10 to Windows 11 update as well as the Volvo specific customization. Do we get new versions of the apps (like Spotify) as well I wonder?.

Going to take a lot of driving to download this sucker! (I guess it only downloads while you're actively driving around)

Any popular basic car now has Apple CarPlay on its infotainment system…

…but not the new 40, 50, 60K US$ Volvos…

Truly unbelievable!

A VP at Volvo Customer Service is active on the XC40forum page and says a wired CarPlay implementation is coming in week 20.
I believe it's good faith reporting. However, I will believe the date when I see it.

Ask that VP to become active here also!

Ilyas and those others of you with Google/Android Automotive OS and with the XC60 ER: can you display the car's drivetrain diagram to show what power is currently going to what axles, and a chart showing EV vs. ICE usage with time, as in the XC90 ER Sensus screen below (which I took from an XC90 ER range test on YouTube)?

Thanks, I was going to ask that question too because I know such displays from Toyota and Lexus. On the other hand, I honestly never found them really helpful there, but rather "flattering" to the eye. Where the power comes from, you can hear and that the battery is charged or not, you can see in the instrument cluster. In this respect, I could well understand if Volvo would save that.
