I test drove a 2025 V60 Polestar Engineered in Vapour Grey. The color looks great, especially in the sunight!

Testing it back to back with a S60 T8 Recharge Black edition, the stiffness of the Ohlins was noticeable. As expected the acceleration performance is nearly identical. 455hp feels very good! No other noticeable changes to 2025 versus previous 2022.5+ extended range models.

Minor user experience gripes on the interior:
The 60 cluster is a step down from the 90 cluster cars when it comes to material quality. For $72k, its a little disappointing to have a leather dash and then see that the door panel tops do not.

The S/V60 T8 models have a slightly more narrow cup holder area and if you have a larger phone with a cover, it may not fit flat over top the center console cup holder area like it does in the B5/B6 models. This puts a spotlight on the limited use of the center console which essentially has no place to store a large phone that has a case. The center console area has very limited space/shallow storage due to the PHEV battery placement. If Volvo offered wireless CarPlay or Android Auto, this would be less of an issue but with a wired connection putting the phone in the console is a logical location. If you have a smaller phone, Volvo offers a slot that allows the phone to sit vertically. Its 2025 and this is a $70k+ vehicle, wireless connectivity and charging should be standard. This really is a minor gripe but it does take away from the overall great experience in the cockpit.

Also, the keys are just plastic covers. No longer perforated leather or leather that 90 cluster vehicles offered -- again, just a little thing but this is the halo 60-cluster, premium vehicle with all the bells and whistles.

The cargo area cover is optional for $385 -- its already a $70k vehicle. Decontenting and charging the customer seems a little petty for a premium vehicle. For 2024, Volvo was charging $200 for a power operated tailgate. For 2025, it now appears standard.

I'll probably regret not buying this while it was available but if you are interested, Volvo Cars of Frederick, MD has this beauty ready to go. Ask for Devon.

In defense of the cargo cover... many, if not most, of my customers report it being in the way and not desired more than not. I think since it became optional I've had to find one less than a handful of times.... small enough that I can usually just steal one out of a used car and no one cares. Of course, different regions this might vary based on theft concerns. But I do fall in the camp of cargo covers just getting in the way and taking up space in my garage when I store them until I end up throwing them out.

As for power tailgate, that started in the pandemic shortages, there was concerns they wouldn't be able to ship all the cars with all the chips... I never had issue ordered every stock car with it, but I think it was on the list to get axed if it came down to it.

Leather key covers weren't just 90s... they went away on all models a few years ago. The leather simply doesn't hold up as well as the plastic does.

I think the Vapor grey is great with the P*... highlights the contrast better than Thunder Grey did. Very sharp car.

1,000% agree on the cargo cover. Bought one for my Mazda. I ****ing hate that thing. Constantly in the way. Great, it hides my groceries from the trunk smashing grocery stealing theft ring in Cleveland. Sarcasm, trunk smashing doesn't seem to be a big thing in Ohio.
Any time I need to put anything besides groceries it usually needs to come out. Spends more time in my garage then it does in my car.

And aren't we always preached to that we should just "not keep valuables in our cars"? And I don't. Oh... I did have a car broken into once, though not through the trunk.
1998 900 S Convertible. Parked in a garage in downtown Cleveland, they tried to tear the top .... that didn't work so they smashed the window....and stole a ratty-ass pair of tennis shoes. Stopped locking the door after that... I'd rather have you look and see there's nothing to steal then actually damage my car.

Can you tell I really hate it? Good on you Volvo for making sure these cargo covers don't wind up where Frantz's went: the landfill.

Key fob doesn't bother me either. I like my 2 aftermarket covers so that we can easily tell them apart. That would be cool if Volvo offered custom covers when you buy the car so you could have different colors for profiles.

I'm partial to my Thunder Grey, but the Vapour does look good too! The V60 PE is really a great car, albeit a little on the expensive side while mostly similar enough to a regular T8.

Interesting that one comes with the rear bumper protector.

That was my question too. I had them set my V60 at 8 all around and the xc60 at 12. Happy with both

I guess that’s the one on Facebook marketplace in Surrey

I liked the Silver Dawn of the MY24 V60 PE, but I think the Vapour Grey looks much better—like you said, it's more complex of a paint! Silver Dawn looks incredible in the indoor showroom, but in direct sunlight, I wasn't as much of a fan; gave off some pearl-tan vibes, like an older Cadillac.

All that said, mine is Thunder Grey and wrapped in matte PPF

I wanted one of the grays or the denim blue for my S60. But I had to settle for white.

I do find it one of the nicer whites out there. With the black accents, it is quite stunning. All the colors look good IMO, though I would prefer a more traditional red color (as in 740/850 red). The current red has a lot of orange in it.

Love the Vapour Grey though.

I think the limited run 2022.5 extended range S/V60s with Sensus may be the more desirable configuration given the various software challenges AAOS has been giving owners.

IMO there’s nothing wrong with AAOS, at least since February 2024, when I got mine. Google is continually improving it. Pretty sure it will be the standard going forward for many if not all vehicles.

Of course my son works for Google, so I‘m biased. (He works in the new booby-shaped buildings and is on the team that assesses the effectiveness of ads).

I have read about people having issues here and on Facebook groups but have experienced none of that, each update I have completed has worked flawlessly with no negatives. Google seems fine to me, thus far.

OP, love the car you pictured. Saw one identical to it at my dealership, when I brought my V in for service. With this said, at $72K it's a price I personally find hard to justify. Sure wish Volvo could find a way to get their price point down to a more reasonable level. I'd sure they'd sell a lot more vehicles if they did, since I think Volvos of almost any model are the nicest in the marketplace.

A V60 T8 Black Edition offered in Crystal White like the S60, without the expensive to replace Ohlins and Brembo brakes, in the $50k-60k range similar to the S60 T8 would be a nice alternative.

I do wish i had apps for Facebook messenger or Whatsapp as I use those two as my primary communication methods but overall the AAOS has worked pretty well for me thus far.

I honestly don't have any issues with the AAOS (so far) so find its been good to me.

I have been using the little slot in front of the arm rest as my phone rest, works good for my A52 and S24 I know have.

Two lines about performance and nine lines about interior details suggest to me that maybe this is not the best replacement for my 2016 V60 T6 Polestar. Would you agree? It is a handsome and appealing car, and the number of performance wagons on the market is vanishingly small.

The inline six Polestars are unique cars, and probably always will be. They sound great, and only Volvo was crazy enough to stuff a straight six sideways in a car. Would I trade one for a new V60 PE? Really depends on what you want out of the car. The V60 PE is unique in a very different way.

What the V60 PE has taught me is that everyone else is doing PHEVs wrong. Regular hybrids will save you money, a PHEV will not. Volvo seems to have realized this, and made the T8 Recharge models about having performance and efficiency at the same time. You can't get 400+ horsepower in something that can push 100 mpg in a typical daily use case (I'm averaging 90 mpg right now) anywhere else. It can be a chill and relaxed EV in your daily commute, and a rocket ship on a backroad, while sacrificing almost nothing to either scenario. It'll never have the character of that I6, but it can do things those cars can't.

+1 1000% don't use the cargo cover that came with my MY24. It's literally sitting in my garage and I may actually just give it back to the dealership to put in another car as a freebee.

Does irk me a bit that wireless AA or CP are not standard; however, it was a nothing a $30 carlinkit dongle (That fits under the center console cover) doesn't fit.

Outside of that, do not regret buying my MY24 when I did; although, vapour was my preferred color, the storm trooper look has been growing on me.

One of the best, if not the best all-rounder wagon in the US for the money.

Would you entertain selling that cargo cover? I just bought a new MY24 V60 PE to replace my MY20, but didn't get a cargo cover for it yet and would be interested in yours. I'm located in NC.

(Sorry, I would've messaged you directly but I'm guessing I don't have enough posts yet.)

My cargo cover stays installed 100% of the time and I use it pretty much daily to cover all my crap from prying eyes. I only remove it for longer trips where I want every bit of cargo space.

But I'm glad it's optional. Mine didn't come with it and it was the first item I bought for my car.

Different strokes for different folks.

First thing I do every time I get one of these cars is to make sure it has the cover - I use it every time something's back there, not because I'm afraid of my car getting broken into but because I don't want to look at whatever's back there when I walk by, lol.

General car supplies storage in a small bin: air compressor, plug kit, first aid kit, jump pack, gloves, headlamp, umbrella, multi-tool, emergency blanket, etc.
Reusable grocery bags
Small car cleaning kit w/ chemicals and towels: quick detailer for bird droppings, interior cleaner for my kids messes.
Gym bag: I go 5 days a week so it's pretty much constantly in there
