Make: Volvo
Model: 240DL Wagon
Year: 1987
Mileage: 191,000
Color: Yellow (Original Paint)
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual
Condition: Very Good :)
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Misc additional information:
This car was owned by one person before me, who put 189,000 miles on it over 23 years. I bought it when I lived in Lancaster (where it is still registered) and it has been great, but unfortunately I now live in Philadelphia (new job!) and do not have a garage or even a dedicated parking spot. Kind of a problem for a 23 year-old garage kept car.

It has vinyl interior with the original head liner. The only interior blemish is the drivers seat, which has been cracked due to the seat heaters. All other seats are in excellent condition including the front passenger. I have two seat covers on just to keep it looking consistent. The car also has a third row jumpseat that has only been used twice.

The paint is all original and has been waxed every two months to keep it looking fantastic. The clutch has been replaced, as well as the exhaust pipe, brakes and tires (last 5,000 miles). The car just passed inspection last month and only needed a new side mirror due to a crack (replaced by Cherry Hill Volvo), and an oil change.

A few areas of concern:
-Rust spot on rear hatch near window
-Radio recently stopped working. (Original head unit and speakers so I'm surprised it lasted this long!)
-Two large rust spots along side undercarriage trim work. (Mechanic said this is pretty common with 240's)
-Air Conditioning needs new freon.

Other than these few issues this car has been great! I'm looking for $3500.00 and am willing to travel outside of the Philadelphia area to deliver. Hopefully this money can go to the OSD XC60 I have been eyeing!

Pictures will follow soon.....

Seller, If I might offer a personal observation as an aid to finding a buyer for your estate? This isn't the right forum, we're all knowledgeable Volvo affectionados
and in no way would any reader pay your asking price. You need a less discerning group as on C.L. I recently sold my wife's '93 estate a real cream puff here in Hawaii as we're now moving to Arizona employment opportunity, shipping cost too pricey. I am looking to purchase another 240 wagon but I assure you it would need to be museum quality to extract $3500 from my tight fisted wife. enough said I offer you best wishes. Should you come to your senses in the near future I may be reached at: 1williamleland@gmail.com

@4bnbad, this post is approaching the 1 year old mark

I bought the car (not for the asking price) and aside from all of the hidden rust in the rockers and floors, it's almost worth the price I paid. Value is all about perception.

This classifieds area isn't a forum for you to spout off your thoughts about overpriced cars and then urge the sellers to contact your highness when he comes to his senses. If you don't like the price, don't buy. Understandably, you're probably trying to help, but this isn't really the best way to go about it.

FWIW, there's a clean '91 245 M47 (silver/gray) for sale in manheim PA for $1805 (see details on ebay, I'm not affiliated with the seller at all.) Perhaps your tight fisted wife would approve of that.

Knowledge is knowing that you don't know everything...
