Anyone have one they’ve been happy with? These have a general reputation for flakiness. Ideally works w MY2023.
I purchased one of these for $40 on Amazon. It works fine. Connects immediately, however I only use it for maps and iHeart radio.Anyone have one they’ve been happy with? These have a general reputation for flakiness. Ideally works w MY2023.
Which MY is your car? Asking because I've heard reliability seems to differ somewhat between Sensus and AAOS-based systems. Never had issues on my Sensus but couldn't get multiple adapters to work with AAOS.I purchased one of these for $40 on Amazon. It works fine. does the one you purchased show whats currently playing in the center screen like the native USB carplay does? The one I purchased didn'tI purchased one of these for $40 on Amazon. It works fine. Connects immediately, however I only use it for maps and iHeart radio.
My vehicle is a 2023 XC60 t8, recharge, ultimate. (AAOS). I just followed the relatively simple instructions and it worked. Connects within 10 seconds when I start the car. It sits in the armrest.Which MY is your car? Asking because I've heard reliability seems to differ somewhat between Sensus and AAOS-based systems. Same car, used Ottocast and works quickly and well. I wish Volvo would just bring I wireless though so I can use the charging pad as intended! My vehicle is a 2023 XC60 t8, recharge, ultimate. (AAOS). My understanding is that wireless CarPlay is such a battery hog that you typically end up plugging in a charging cable anyway. The phone heats up too much when using wireless CarPlay and relying on any wireless charging padSame car, used Ottocast and works quickly and well. Wireless CarPlay is nice for quick drives around town, but I agree a charging pad will cause the temperature to put the device in a protection mode on longer drives. I can attest to this as I left my iPhone 15 Pro Max on my wife's 2019 Audi charging cradle for a 4 hour drive. With about 40 minutes left in the drive the iPhone stopped since it started to overheat, and this with the new feature of only charging to 80% battery. When it dips just a bit, it'll charge it back up to 80%, stop and then back up constantly causing the iPhone to go into a protection mode. Once cooled down, the iPhone will even state it will no longer show Maps on the lock screen to protect the device. Longer trips it's just better long term to go wired. My understanding is that wireless CarPlay is such a battery hog that you typically end up plugging in a charging cable anyway.
