My Daughters 2000 S70 started leaking from the rack and the power steering pump went out at the same time. I replaced the rack, power steering pump, and return line. Afterwards it turned left perfectly and was very labored returning back to the right. I turned it back and forth about 50 to 75 times to try to work the air out and it began working as it should. She drove it for a week and the steering locked and had to be towed home. I was told that I likely got a bad power steering pump so I returned it and got another new one. This fixed nothing is always locked where it will not return to the right. Any ideas?

I owned a Volvo shop for 38 years. I had to replace maybe 1 bad steering pump - because the front bushings were worn and it leaked too much. The problem is not your pump.

You have a bad rack. Where did this replacement rack come from?
Rock auto. I don’t remember the brand. I’ll have to go look at the box outside tomorrow.
