Had just put 5 gallons 100 and about 7.5 gallons 93 in the R and took a casual drive around Charlotte today. I've just got to say the throttle responsiveness was nice. But when the temp dropped significantly below 60F, she really came alive.

On the way home, I learned that a Neon SRT4 doesnt have anything, anything, at any speed. I knew it was a few tenths slower to 60 than us, but the SRT4 was not quick to any speed. I slowed down several times for this guy, let him bumper ahead of me and had no problem passing him repeatedly. Oh well, learned a little bit. Didn't expect a challenge but didn't realize the SRT4 was dog slow. (Closed course, professional drivers, do not attempt at home).

Oh and saw a gorgeous red Porcsche Boxter Roadster today, with 9"(?) wide tires on the back. Man that's a hot looking car!

You are right about a Boxer. If I did not have two little squirts to toss in the back to consider, I would have a Boxer.

Why does having children influence your decision on buying a dog?

Sorry, my inner JRL needs to correct you to Boxster. A boxer is a dog, or a person who wears goves and fights in a ring.

And yes, they are hot cars. I don't care if they're down on power, they are sweet.

(Edited my post to clear up the confusion)

Not really. I am not a big fan of the boxster but I do really like the S model. Boxster's handle really well... also at the end of the day it is still a +$60 k.

A friend of mine use to say the same dumb thing about my girlfriend's SLK 55 being a chicks car, until the day I stepped on it and blew by him like he was standing still... taking $100 of his cash in the process.

Honestly take a MY05 or newer Boxster or Boxster S out for a spin. You'll be really surprised.

I had a 99 boxter (non S) for a couple of months.... bought it for 17K and sold it for 23K... couldn't pass it up.... I bought it before driving it(yeah dumb, i know) as a fun weekend car but could barely fit in it.

Yeah, I agree. Total chick car. What's worse? There's one that parks in my office building and SHE takes MY spot a little too often! The nerve of these chicks and their boxters!

Not so sure I agree with you guys about the SRT4 being slow. My cousin has one and even before he put his giant turbo in, that makes 450bhp and pulls in upper 10s 1/4 miles, he would give my R a heavy run. With just basic exhaust and ECU mods that is.

Are you sure you're talking about THIS car?

stock they are not that slow, but with simple boltons or ECU programming they can be made quite fast. Problem is with that much HP going to the front wheels they stink to drive. Regardless, its a Dodge Neon, end of story.
