Tranny and angle gear connected

Angle gear where axles slides into

Angle where it connects to the tranny

Tranny and spline sleave where it connects to the angle gear

Rear engine mount for AWD 01 and newer cars

Engine mount and Powerstearing rack . - acutally same from 01-08 FWD and AWD cars. looks the same might be different part numbers but what ever.

AWD axle and FWD axle - same lenght just the AWD is a little buggered

Tourque Converter / Magic Box

TC in tranny

Now when replacing tranny make sure to put the TC in the tranny first otherwise it wont go on correctly and blow out the back side of your tranny

Tranny with out TC

Auto Flywheel where TC bolts to

Engine with no TC and RMS exposed

RMS close up

For new thing

And this has always belong here

Now dont forget this same AWD design its basicly / all but exaclty the same from 97-08 in all I5 Engine volvos

Re: (Chilled Man)

Awesome...nice addition to my gallery. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Q: Where does the axle splines slide into?

...still don't really understand why the car is in FWD (as opposed to one wheel drive) when the angle gear collar gives out.

As you see on the driveshaft there the only connection is acutally inside the tranny itself.

The rest of the shaft is smooth and has no interation with angle gear.

The angle gear is driven by the spline sleave wich is seperate peice .

The drive shaft acutally goes inside that and then seals itself on the tranny inside there.

I will see if I can get the sleave off and that will show in pics much better what I am trying to say

Re: (Chilled Man)

got it, thanks http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

someone explained this previously, I just couldn't beleive the axleshaft was skinny enough to slide through the hollow parts.

I think this should be added to the Master Information thread for reference purposes. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Sweet pics! While you're at, any ideas on strengthening the angle gear?

I would be more concerned about upgrading the spline sleave first then the angle gear.

But make the both out of the same metal and use a thicker oil and change it often.
