I decide to pull the awd fuse to see how it feels and go for a short ride around the block. Can't really tell if there's a big difference do I decide to go back home. Go up the driveway and make a right turn. I accelerate and the R downshifts and I hear his screeching sound. WTF. I stop the car andget out. I smell some burning rubber and this is what I see:

I put the fuse back in right away.

Re: Yeah, I think I'll leave the awd fuse in. (o2k)

pretty weak compared to the one I pulled in a regular S60. but, I used the ebrake. couldve stayed peeling for as long as I wanted, then left 50 ft trails.

I was just trying to take the turn and this happened unintentionally.
When you did yours with the E-brake, was it a one wheel burnout?

I was also trying to figure out if fwd cars with open diffs do one or two wheel burn outs.

They use the already equipped ABS system to monitor wheel spin and apply braking to each individual wheel creating a power shift to the other side.
IF both sides have equal traction ie, straight line, you might get a 2 wheel burnout.

I know I've seen a camry do leave two streaks with an open diff.

I think one tire broke loose first, followed by the other due to idiotic persistence. But they both left 50Ft marks ALA locked mustangs and such.
