Re: Xenon Goodness (vivek9856)

I have them on my TSX and love them. I think all Volvo's should have HID as standard equipment.

Because . . . . . . .
Did not want them. Not worth the expense for the option and not worth the increased repair costs when they break.

If the ABL breaks, you probably have to change the entire headlamp, which can cost ~$1000 a piece.
Chance of halogen lamp assembly breaking is rare unless it's cracked. Even if it did break, I'm sure it's much cheaper to replace.

Re: Xenon Goodness (vivek9856)

I have always liked Xenon's. I was concerned about my T6 not having the Xenons; however, I will say that the standard halogens on my T6 are among the best I have ever experienced with regards to illumination coverage and brightness. Functionally, I have no regrets, but, I do miss that "almost daylight" look of Xenon from behond the wheel.

They really give the car more character. When you look at the front from afar, it seems like the car is looking at you...
For me, I felt it wasn't worth ticking the xenon option for my car... because roads here where I am are so well lit already...

Re: Xenon Goodness (vivek9856)

I like my stock xenons. I did have the DRLs de-programmed so I had control over my headlights. Here, in Southern California, the added candlepower is helpful in making my commutes safer from our legally and illegally medicated drivers.
