Just flew in last night, as I was getting my rental car through Hertz, I was walking into their parking garage and there was sitting 6 XC90's. T6's and 2.5T's. Blacks & Silvers. 5 pass and 7 pass.
To answer the tire questions...they were shod with Pirelli Scorpion Zeros. The tread was not as aggressive as what is on the XC70's
So, San Fran'ers, if you want to see one up close, I would head over to teh airport late an night and check out the Hertz garage.
Did the XC90s you saw have 17 inch wheels? Other threads in this forum have suggested the Pirelli Scorpions are only on the 17 inch wheels with Conti's on the 16 and 18 inch wheels.

They all had the same 17 inchers and the Scorpions. The silvers were 2.5Ts and the blacks were T6 models. Volvo used the Hertz pickup point as a clever way to ferry journalists from the airport to the hotels.
You may catch them driving around town and up to Napa and Sonoma as well. They are all European models with euro plates.
Phil, sounds like I might have just missed you. I was at the airport yesterday afternoon. Drove a T6 there.

There had been changed from Continental's.

Most likely Michelins.
Yannis

I don't have the copy with me now of what exact kind, but 17" are Michelin and 18" Pirelli. However, that was two weeks ago. Originally, both of them were announced to have Continental tires. That is all I know. Hope it will help a little bit.

Originally, they were to be Continental Premium Contact (18")and Advanture Contact (17").
European model will have Pirelli's V or Z rated tires due to their speed on Autobahn.
