A few quick questions:
1) Does the V8 Sport have a reduced turning radius when compared to non-sport models?
2) What are the differences, if any, between 2007 and 2008 models.
3) Do these come from the factory with transmission coolers?

Re: XC90 V8 Sport Questions (ChicagoT5)

Compared to my 04 T6, the 08 Sport seems to have no noticable difference in turning radius and the turning radius is pretty good for an SUV. From my understanding, its just different roll bars, springs, and perhaps shocks for the suspension tuning so the geometry (and hence the turning radius) should be the same.
I don't seem to recall the t-cooler as an option so I believe there is one.

Turning radius on my XC90 with 20" wheels is much smaller than my S60R. KTM_525 is going to make me measure it. We have been talking about this on another thread.

If you told me the R was 86' I would believe it. I never attempt a u-turn in it. Last time I tried I had a close call as I had to back up and I had to do a three point with on coming traffic. It sucked.

I would be the title of BOTH cars that the R is worse and worse by quite a ways.

Well I can tell you if I am in the middle turn lane of a 5 lane road (two lanes each direction). I can't make a U-Turn. I need to have access to a side street so I can cheat and turn in at least 5 more feet or have a hell of a shoulder with no curb. In the XC90 I can make the turn with no trouble. It is the only thing I like better about the XC90. R still owns!

I loved almost everything about my R, but that turn radius thing definitely sucked.
I lived in Germany most of the time I owned my SR, which was great in most respects. However, the turn radius problem sucked even more there due to the much narrower roadways.

Re: (Ljungeld)

I have never been embarrassed by my R. You must have had a GT! I got curb rash all over my 17's from Kaiserslautern streets so I understand. I got some new 18's to put on, I just got to dig them out of my closet. However, I once had a Fiat X1/9 that had no reverse. Sticking my foot out the door and kicking myself back into the driveway was a bit odd!

I had a Fiat 124 Spyder that I used do that maneuver to get it out of the one-car garage we had in Florida. Worked fine until one day I had the driver's door open a tad too much and it caught the edge of the garage door jam. Dang door never worked the same after that. Hard to explain that one to the wife...
