I just took delivery of our OSD V8 XC90 with navigation. When I was playing with the radio settings, two items came up that I was unable to adjust. One was "center off" and the other was "surround off". I accessed these by pushing the large round knob on the upper right corner on the face of the radio. I don't have access to the car right now but I believe it said "sound". Anyways, does anyone know what "center off" and "surround off" refers to? Does having navigation eliminate the center speaker? Can I turn these items "on"?
Thanks for the help...............

Re: XC90 Radio Question (Kodabear)

Kodabear
Those are off if the radio is not in Dolby Surround mode. There is three possible audio modes for the Radio/CD player; stereo (where just the left and right speakers work), three channel (this adds the center channel to the left and right), and then the dolby adds the surrond sound speakers.
Matt

Matt, is Dolby Surround typically used for listening to the radio or just cd's? How do you activate Dolby (sorry, I am not with the car nor do I have the manual)?
Thanks!

Re: XC90 Radio Question (Kodabear)

So the manual explains how to set the dobly settings by going to to the audio menus.
What I have done is programed one of the "My Keys" to switch the Audio Modes with just pushing a button. You actually have three of the "My Keys" avialble to you. There is the one that is labled "My Key" but you also has the two blank ones on either side of the zero. I use one to controll the audio settings for the radio and the other for the CD player.
