Re: XC90 MY2007 (Zouz)

Very nice! They seem to be listening to us. The light interior now has a grey dash to stop the annoying reflection. They've changed the cheap silver-plastic door handles. Body-colored bumpers and side trim... all top complaints here. Turn indicators on the mirrors, and that blind-spond indicator system. Perforated leather. Chrome roof rails. I like the new wood trim, too.
What's the 3.2 engine? Is that the new six-cylinder?
All those are nice touches, but I didn't see "iPod" or "satellite radio" labels on the stereo input controls, and those are the only things that can get me back into a Volvo showroom.

Many small changes. Some nice, others not so nice. I like the BLIS.
Our XC90 will already look dated when we pick it up in 10 days.

Projector Headlights, very nice, I like it! But not so keep on the redesigned tails lights, in fact IO don't like them at all. If I had an XC I would switch them out for the previous ones. And what is up with that huuuuuge rear bumper plate?

I like the integrated phone controls, above volume / track buttons on steering wheel and on the head unit. Any idea if this will be available on US-spec vehicles ?
What's the BLIS ? Blind spot safety ??

Re: XC90 MY2007 (Carbsumer)

The exterior changes are, at best, modest. And I'm fine with that -- coming up on three years of ownership, I still think the XC90's exterior is one of the best and most appealing in the mid-size luxury SUV category. In my mind it's always been the right balance between ruggedness and luxury. There's nothing out there on the road right now that makes me go, "Wow, I've got to have that." (If the MDX didn't look so plain and the RX330 didn't look like a bubble, I'd be singing a different tune.)
That's the XC90's exterior. Now for the interior.

Quote, originally posted by Carbsumer »

All those are nice touches, but I didn't see "iPod" or "satellite radio" labels on the stereo input controls, and those are the only things that can get me back into a Volvo showroom.

This has been stated a million times in a million other threads, so I'll say it again: For a $50k car that otherwise does so much so well, this is maddeningly incomprehensible. I otherwise love this car and have had no problems, but if mine were stolen or totaled tomorrow I can't say I would re-up for another XC90.

Does the 3.2 replace the 2.5T? Any HP or EPA/MPG specs?

Shown the exterior photos to someone (my wife) who is not into cars or Volvo, she notices the following differences compare to the current XC90:
1. The front bumper has less black plastic.
2. The side mirror is now body colored and houses the indicator lights.
3. The silver roof rails.
4. Different rear skid plate.
I could probably name a dozen more exterior changes but my point is, to an untrained eyes, the changes are very subtle. I believed that is a good thing.
The projector bi-xenon is probably one of my favorite changes, and I'm hoping the housing dimensions and mounting points are the same as the current headlights. It opens up the possibility of a swap.
Additionally, it seems like Volvo is going to release another 19 inch wheel for the XC90.

More info would be helpful.

Re: (Trevor)

I'm hoping the interior door handles are a rubber compound and not just black for show. I'm not a big fan of the current "plasticky" handles. Grippier handles would be a nice change.
Also, I'm sorry, but that wood is atrocious...I'm very happy with the current darker version.
The exterior color coded trim is nice, however, Volvo continues to insist on uniform black bumpers = (
Lastly, circular rear lights rock and will be missed on the new models.

Not sure about the exact EPA but it should be equal if not better of what one would get with the current 2.5T engine.
Yannis

Re: XC90 MY2007 (Zouz)

Wow, so much silver 'trim' now on the inside. The steering wheel, the radio, the buttons, etc. Given that they can't even attach trim to the outside of the car accurately, do we really want them putting it on the inside too?
BLIS is nice and I'd of liked to get that but will it come on the US version?
Body colored fenders with just a little bit of plastic to hopefully stop door dings is nice too. I got black though so the body colored stuff isn't that big a deal.
I can't make out what the upper left button on the right stereo button cluster says but could it possiby be labelled 'AUX' ?
