So, I purchased this car with 150K and was a bit apprehensive. Took a chance and now 5 years later, I'm hitting 301000.

Only maintenance is: Oil changes every 10K, plugs, tranny flush, fan for radiator, bulbs, loose wires as mirror signal lights not working, fuses for 12V, brakes and tires, upgraded LED taillight, converted fogs to LED.

Original: Muffler, suspension ... basically everything original except the items mentioned above. yes, original brake fluid, coolant, etc. xc2.jpg xc1.jpg

Looking good Toronto1!
Wait, is that 300,000km or miles? JK, seriously, nice tasteful upgrades. I'd like to do some of that to my wife's V8.

Got a deal from Volvo Unionville. $800 for the LED tail lights and $139 for the FOG LED from Car Lighting District. also changed the front grille and put that chrome thingy below the grill. The RIMS were off Kijiji.. someone was selling rims n tires and I thought these would look great. Upgraded tires to 265 50 19 from 255 50 19 and they made a huge difference in appearance/stance.

That looks great at 300,000km! I remember when the LED tail lights were $500 for the pair and am guessing they have gone up a little. I see them for $280 for each light at FCP. I just might have to do the upgrade and install some resistors.

Excuse my ignorance, why install resistors?

The module will check for a burnt out bulb by the regular bulb resistance. The LEDs need a resistor tapped in parallel and the computer will read (CANbus) the resistor so you don't get a bulb warning. There are many specific resistor options now for LED replacement lights.

It looks like Tasca has a better price compared to FCP, but have to add the shipping cost.

Thanks. I didn’t finish reading the thread but I installed rear led brake lights but didn’t throw a code. I wonder if I am going to run into any issues later?

Forget the resistors and live with the bulb warning. Resistors worked for 2 months and then stopped. Replaced them and again, worked for a few months and then stopped. So now I deal with the lamp warning.

Congrats!
I bought a '09 3.2 with 142K and I'm hoping to achieve the same >200,000 mi results.

Sidenote: At 300,000+ km, I would recommend a drain and replacement of all the remaining unchanged fluids. Brake, Coolant, AOC, Haldex, Power Steering.

Some aftermarket bulb replacements have a built in resistor so CANbus doesn't throw a code. My aftermarket HID retrofit came with a built-in relay in the harness so the CANbus does not throw a dash light. However, the original Volvo rear LED tail light assembly upgrade (original on 2013+ XC90) does not have a built-in resistor.

I hope there are good resistors that can last. I am looking at this one: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/morimoto-led-load-resistor.html Using Morimoto products and comparing to other aftermarket brands, there is a difference in quality, at least for my HID kit. I did a side by side on all the components with some other brand from a different cheaper HID webstore and the other brand ballast burnt out in a matter of 6 months. My Morimoto ballast was about 25% thicker and 10% taller and wider. It's still going 1.5+ years later and more than 40k miles.

Is the tranny flush an easy diy job? Drain and fill? I have never investigated this but I have a 07 in the family fleet with 207k miles and starting to get a rough 1-2 shift at low speeds. Curious if fresh fluid would help......or hinder
