All T6 owners, U.S or non U.S, do you have the "sport mode" when you flick your shifter to the right?<p><A HREF="http://apps.volvocars.us/ownersdocs/2008/2008_XC70/08xc70_03b.htm#pg113" TARGET="_blank">Click and see here for owners manual</A>

Re: XC70 T6's Sport Mode (djeremya)

I don't think so, but I'd hope if it was there, I'd have noticed it by now! I'll check tonight. I switch to Advanced (we're lucky and get 4C) when I want more aggressive gear changing and suspension (it shifts later).

Re: XC70 T6's Sport Mode (Lotus99)

With the S60R/V70R Geartronics, it will automatically apply the "S" sport mode whenever Advanced is selected. Not sure if this works the same with the XC70 T6's.

For the benefit of those who didn't click the link (you then have to scroll down a bit to page 113 as well - for some reason the online owner's manual always is a few pages behind when you click a link to it):<p><I>"Sport (S)1<br>Sport mode offers more immediate engine response and allows the transmission to shift up at higher rpm.<p>To access Sport mode (S), move the gear selector to the right from Drive (D). The information display will change from D to S.<p>Sport mode can be selected at any time.<p>1 Available on models with 6-cylinder turbo engines only. "</I><p><br>Nope. It looks like the pic in the manual but when you move it to the right, it's just Manual mode. No Sport mode here.<p><IMG SRC="http://apps.volvocars.us/ownersdocs/2008/2008_XC70/images/pg108b.jpg" BORDER="0"><p><IMG SRC="http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq266/Lotus100/Gears.jpg" BORDER="0"><p>And it shows you the gear:<p><IMG SRC="http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq266/Lotus100/Dash.jpg" BORDER="0">

Re: (djeremya)

I can see that would be an issue with non-4C equipped cars, but for Canada, does it really make a difference? After all, isn't the 4C supposed to do that?

But some people might not have gotten that option even in Canada.<p>Personally, I'd have preferred if the suspension and gearing were separate. So a sport mode just for the more aggressive gear changing would have been nice, and adjust suspension independantly. But it's not too bad this way, one button does it all. I wouldn't have minded having sport mode on though even in Comfort if it was possible.

I had a XC70 T6 loaner and it had no sport mode. <p>What cars actually were equipped with this (meaning what markets)?

Yes, Aussies are here! My V70 has sport mode (but we flick to the left over here as the steering wheel is on the proper side), once in sport mode we can then go manual shift if wanted. I'm not sure about our XC70's though, Hatdriver or some of the west aussies should know.

For what it's worth, my V70T6 has the S mode.

Or are you better off using the manual mode? <p>I don't have a T6 so I don't know what S mode is like. But what I do know is that the gearbox can be a bit hesistant when I want to overtake on a uphill gradient at highway speeds in D. I tend to use manual mode in such circumstances. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/wink.gif" BORDER="0">

Re: (frontwheeldriven)

Sport mode did not come to North American spec T6s due to fuel economy cert issues. Unfortunately the OM is wrong.
