I am close to ordering an XC60 but I have noticed equipment on the UK spec model that is not listed for the US spec vehicle. I see the UK model has the option for active 4C suspension or active load leveling. Does anyone know if the US models have these options? Are there any other options (other than the diesel engines) that other countries will get and the US won't?

Re: XC60 Equipment (cdsiniS60R)

I just bought an XC60 in the US and was not able to get these either. There was generally confusion at the dealer if this came perhaps with the trailer option. In any event I was not able to get it.
ALSO note that if you downloaded or looked at the UK site owners manual for the XC60, several features are absent in the US or work differently in the US. For example, in the US, you can not open/close all windows by pressing the remote unit button. Not sure why this is as it is a feature i would like to have. No one has been able to tell me if the dealer can program this feature.
XC60 is great ... so far I love it. I strongly recommend the BLIS, and Tech package (collision avoidance, lane change warning, etc)

The US delivery models also presently offer fewer cosmetic options (paint colors, no option for "Classic Wood" trim). Apparently these are available for US-spec cars via OSD, so you should also have access to them if you're taking delivery in Sweden or Germany. The 19" wheels cannot be ordered except as an outright accessory for a huge price; I think that situation is the same in US and Europe.
Regarding suspension, it seems the 4C is no longer available on US-spec cars at all, but you could ask. It may also be true that the non-4C suspension tuning is different; I've read a few references to the US cars having softer suspension with a minor, but noticeable, degradation of handling.
Aside from the diesel engines (and manual transmissions) that you noted, I'm not aware of any other significant hardware that is unavailable on US cars. If you get Nav, you might want to ensure that you get both Europe and USA maps. Unfortunately, the Nav (which I didn't really want) is bundled with the upgraded audio system in the USA; you might be able to separate them.
Re: XC60 Equipment (hshlevin)

Thanks for the info. My wife and I had a test drive and we were very impressed. It will be replacing my 04 S60R since it is hard from me to get into/out of and drive due to back surgery. The T6 ran well and it handled the curves and uneven pavement well...a bit soft (like the R in comfort) but well. It felt sure footed. We did not have the guts to try the city safety equipment. We are going to get it fully loaded since it will be the last vehicle purchase for a long while. We are looking forward to the purchase. One quick question, how is it on gas?
Thanks,

Re: XC60 Equipment (jhalbert)

Thanks for the info. The dealer here is looking into getting the European map disc at a discount price or thrown in free. I will ask about the 4C and I have already been told the 19" wheels were not available; did not want them anyway after dealing with my R and upgraded wheels (18" wheels rubbed).
My wife noted the color she picked at the dealership is not showing on the Volvo US web page. I will have to make sure we can get that color. Good thing she picked 3 colors. Wait a minute, this is suposed to be my vehicle. Why am I letting her picked the color? She has better taste than I do that's why.
Thanks,

You only get 1 set free.
