Hi, I bought my car from a dealer a year ago with 20K miles on it. Over the year, I drove it about 4000 miles and the service light came on. The dealer asked me to bring the car in and said I needed to get it serviced because it had been a year since the last service. He also said this would count as the 30k service, even though it has only 24K miles on it.

Should I get this recommended service done or wait until the car has 30K miles on it?

You should certainly do an oil change now if you have any plans to keep the car. Why in the world would you want to cheap out on this on such an expensive motor? A year of limited driving is far worse on a car than putting 10k or 15k on it. You get all the condensation in the oil and you're just asking for sludge and problem. I'd probably just do the 30k service because the coverage on this is 3 years or 36k... so if the car gets over 3 years old you miss out regardless of the miles... again, because it should be in at least once a year.
