I rented a XC this weekend (pics to come) and noticed a few things. This was to get a feel for driving a Volvo (don't currently own one but want to buy the V70R in the spring).
Great car. Very supportive seats, much better than my Passat. Wonderful engine and tranny. Much more smoother and responsive than my Passat. I now fully understand why you guys love your Volvo's this much.
I was driving home tonight in the rain and I noticed there seems to be a glare on the windshield while driving under street lamps (highway and city) and while cars are going the opposite direction. I pretty much can't see the road until the car passes or I pass the street lamps. This is not this bad in my Passat. Anyone else notice this in the XCs? Could it be my driving position?
Thanks,
Ron

Re: XC glare issue? (B518T)

I have rented Volvos many times from Hertz, before the premium program. The best deal I got one time was $10 a day more than the Taurus I had reserved. They were having a SUV special and said the deal applied to the XC70. The one I got had less than 100 miles on the clock. I travel a fair amount for work and would rather rent cars and put the miles on them than my T5. To answer your question, I have never noticed the glare. I find that many rental cars have that film on the inside of the glass that comes from them baking in the sun.
