Re: WTB 1995 940 Non-Turbo in excellent condition (Hanzou)

Why particularly a 95, not a 92-93-or a 94?
While I'm not an expert with these I usually come across about one really nice one per year, but the last two were a 93 and a 94.

Re: WTB 1995 940 Non-Turbo in excellent condition (JRL)

The 1994, I really don't want to deal with a regina again. When mine went wacky it took forever to fix.
And I'd rather it to be newer than older.
I just helped my friend buy a 1995 that has been garaged about 90% of its life because the guy works where he has a garage and at home. It also has SIPS as it is written on the pillar down in the corner right of the door. Since the guy had all the records, it would allow us to do 1000 mile trips without a break down as you can just replace the fuel pump every 150k miles to be safe etc... since there are less Volvos in the midwest.

Welcome to Swedespeed, Paul.
What was the odo on your 740 when you started driving it? Should be very near 300,000 miles by now. Do you have the medallion on the car?
OK, a '95 940 non-turbo - wagon or sedan? Color in/out? Manual (rare!) or AT?
What is the highest $$ you will pay for the perfect car?
How far will you travel to pick up the car?
Are you in Nebraska?
George Dill

Re: WTB 1995 940 Non-Turbo in excellent condition (gdill2)

I am in NE, it depends, and color is not that important if the paint is in excellent condition. It could be wagon, though I lean toward sedan. Well, I figured it would be in the $3k range since that's what we picked the other 1995 one for in immaculate condition - drives like new. I figured I'd post ad to see if there is any b/c I can't find anything really. And the closer to me the better. Preferably around 165k miles or less, depending if the radiator and fuel pump etc... have been changed out or not yet I could go closer to something like this mileage and maintenance-wise - plus this one is immaculate http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=120483 .
I don't have the 300k medallion b/c my speedometer has not been working for a few weeks. I get 23.5mpg on my route to and from work, so I estimate where I am till I have time to fix the wiring at the axle. Otherwise, it reads 293k miles

1995 940's are rarer than hen's teeth, particularly in the condition that you require. You will most likely have to look nationwide for your ideal 940.

Re: WTB 1995 940 Non-Turbo in excellent condition (gdill2)

the carpet on that one is peculiar.
Yeah, nationwide most likely. Well, I just thought I would post a wanted and if volvoholic decides they just don't want it anymore, maybe I could carry it on for him/her. I plan to keep it in "mint" condition as much as possible. It doesn't need to be immediate.
The one I just picked up for my friend, the guy put a turbo exhaust on it few years ago and sounds really nice and still quiet.
