It looks like New Yorks first casualty, a 2001 Cosmos Blue S60 2.4T! This car is actually in Whitesboro, NY.
Notice the IC-Inflatable Curtain on the drivers side, both front airbags, and drivers seat side air bag all triggered. Also notice that the IC inflated even though it was not a direct side-impact.

-Drew

Are there any details about the collision or of any injuries that the driver or passengers might have suffered?

In those photos I have noted that the rear left wheel is the spare wheel (max 80 Km/h as the manual said); could this be the cause of the accident? The parking brake lever seems also pushed up, and this may cause injuries to the driver.

I am not really sure about the details of this accident, but I don't think that the occupants suffered any injuries from the looks of things.
The spare wheel is most likely on the car because the original wheel was destroyed. The spare needed to be on the car for them to tow the car since both front wheels were destroyed. Also, the parking brake lever is up because it only works on the rear wheels to keep the car in place since both front wheels are missing.
-Drew

You could try getting some info through NEMET Auto Group. If you're wondering where that came from, look closely at the bottom of the license plate. Notice the big "NEMET"? They're located in Queens, NY and might have contact info for the owner. Strange thing is that Whitesboro is 250 Mi from Queens. Did the owner buy it far from home, crash it far from home, or did they load it on a truck to take it that far to a junk yard? Would the spare have lasted that long, if towed?
Interesting stuff here.

I guess that it hit a guardrail or median island with the front driver-side fender and wheel. It looks like the rim of the wheel actually broke off of the spokes. Does that theory sound right to anybody?
-Rob
